Finally, success with the larger cast glass digitally woven in VR vase. I used heritage craft haptic actions within a virtual environment then realised in a physical material.

A preview into another new piece and process I’ve been exploring during my research sabbatical. This fantastic machine is the world’s first commercial Glass 3D printer produced by Maple Glass 3d. The vessel is the potentially the world’s first VR woven 3D glass printed. – at Stockport, England

After a clean the VR woven details start to define both the form and process. A crafted process without physical touch. Looking to expand my network with new body of research across a spectrum of companies such as Lalique (opalescent glass) and @Meta
First test of using Virtual Reality as a mark making tool for glass making. Through copying the actions of knitting and weaving in a Virtual environment, the new physical, the form is 3D printed and then invested for Lost PLA casting. Embracing new tools to challenge craft
Using @GravitySketch to ‘virtually’ weave a 3D vessel in bronze. A phygital object created through traditional haptic processes #phygital #c4d #redshift #gravitysketch
How can AI be used as a ‘craft’ tool rather than a threat to traditional creativity? The beginnings of a new body of work that will straddle both the physical and digital. #stablediffusion #midjourney #phygital #craft #making #design

Today is the 220th birthday of Joseph Plateau, inventor of the phenakistoscope. But what does that have to do with this beautiful sculpture by Geoffrey Mann (@geoffmannstudio)? (Thread)
