Brewers 1B Jake Bauers decided to retire two years ago. His wife was going to go back to work as a teacher and he would be a stay-at-home-dad. Three weeks later, though, she found out she was pregnant with their second child.
Bauers decided to return to baseball only because his family needed health insurance. Tonight he was named MVP of the National League Championship Series.
Big congratulations to one the biggest #Brewers fans I know. @CoachEinerson. Party like it's 1982!

Wade Davis had a 0.97 ERA over a 176-game stretch from September 2013 through July 2016. That's exactly 176 innings with only 19 earned runs allowed.
Relievers can go through dominant months. Davis sustained that level for nearly three seasons worth of appearances, which is what makes the number look almost impossible.

Forty years ago I didnāt know anyone at ESPNās personal opinion on politics. Hell, I didnāt even know their personal opinions of the athletes they covered. And I had no idea what a beautiful thing that was.

I spent 21 years at ESPN, and for 10 of those years, Coach Mike Ditka and I worked together every Sunday.
Every Saturday night, we had dinner together. Those Saturday nights were some of the best nights of my entire ESPN career.
Mike was a legend, but what made him special went far beyond football. He was genuine, kind, and one of the greatest human beings Iāve ever had the privilege of knowing.
I learned so much from Coach, both on and off the set. Iām grateful that our paths crossed on this journey we call life, and Iām a better person for having known him.
Rest in peace, Coach. šš¼
Thank you for the memories, the lessons, and the friendship. You will be missed.
