Most people expect genome sequencing to hand them something like a book written in plain English: something you can read, understand and act on. The reality is different: sequencing gives you a book written in a language we've only partly deciphered. Some passages we can read, and we know what they mean. Others we know matter, but only in combination with passages we haven't found yet. And most of it we don’t yet understand at all. This leads some to conclude that the genome offers little/no value. But that view limits itself. If we approached every scientific frontier that way, we'd never discover anything. The right response to what we don't understand isn't dismissal, it's curiosity, and we are just still so very early in understanding the human genome. This is what excites me most - how early we are - and how today’s (and tomorrow’s) technologies can help us understand more of the book. The pieces are all already here: sequencing is cheap (and getting cheaper), many people already track their own phenotypic data automatically, and AI can serve as both the analysis layer and the interface anyone can use to engage with their own biology. Better yet - we’re approaching an era where much of this can be done locally and with every individual in full control of their data. We're launching something soon at @genomecomputer. I’d you’d like early access, my DMs are open.
I can't find a way to use my genome. I’m the most intense longevity athlete in the world and haven’t used my genome for a single thing. Fully sequenced in 2012. Again this year, paying $7,902 for matched 30x long read + 100x short read. Still, nothing. What am I missing?

We can’t sell your genome. Not today. Not if we’re acquired. Not if we go bankrupt. It’s yours.

Come and join the fun
Building @genomecomputer is a lot of fun and we're growing fast. We want to bring on more people to help us move even faster. If you are keen to roll your sleeves up, do a bit of everything, and build something cool, DM me.

Today we’re launching Genome Computer for Clinicians. Most genetic testing still ends with a static report. But our understanding of the genome is not static. With Genome Computer, clinicians can: - Order 30x whole genome sequencing for patients - Search a patient’s whole genome in plain English - Ask about medications, disease risk and inherited conditions - Explore the genome alongside other diagnostic results - Get alerts when new research or updated interpretations change The goal is simple: make the whole genome useful in everyday clinical care, not just at the point a test is ordered. We’re starting by offering verified U.S. clinicians free whole genome sequencing and access to Genome Computer. genomecomputer.com/clinician…

It’s time to explore your genome
We wanted a company we could trust to sequence our genomes. One where all data is deleted and samples are discarded by default. Where we could download and explore our genetic files ourselves without paying an ongoing subscription. Where our data was never up for sale. We couldn't find it. So we built it. Give it a try: @genomecomputer.

We believe everyone should have access to their genome. We built @genomecomputer to be the kind of company we’d trust to sequence our own. 1. Your sample is de-identified before sequencing. Our laboratory partners receive no personally identifiable information or protected health information with your sample. 2. Your genetic data cannot be sold or licensed. Neither Genome Computer nor our laboratory partners can sell, license or commercially distribute your genomic data, including de-identified or aggregated datasets. 3. Your genetic data is never used to train AI models. We don't use your identifiable genomic data for model training or license it to others for that purpose. 4. We don't use your genome for research. There is no hidden or optional research program, and we don't share your data with researchers or pharmaceutical companies. 5. Your sample and data are deleted by default. Collection devices and residual samples are destroyed five days after results are delivered. DNA samples and sequencing deliverables are deleted after 90 days. You can also request earlier deletion. 6. These protections follow your data. Our and our labs' subprocessors are bound by contractual data-protection requirements. Read more at genome.computer.

Today, we’re introducing whole-genome sequencing for teams. After a lot of interest, companies can now offer whole-genome sequencing as a benefit through @genomecomputer. Each individual’s data stays private and is never shared with their employer. We deliver fully annotated .genome files ready for AI-assisted self-exploration, in 2–3 weeks. Interested in offering whole-genome sequencing to your team? Email [email protected].

Some products can be built by ordinary companies with ordinary privacy policies. We do not think consumer genomics is one of them. That is why we set up Genome Computer as a Public Benefit Corporation. We're legally bound to never sell or license your individual genetic data. Your DNA stays private and remains in your full control.

Today, we’re introducing Private Whole Genome Sequencing. No name. No email. No permanent identity linked to your genome. Together with our Public Benefit Corporation structure, it’s part of our commitment to building genetic infrastructure that puts individual ownership first. Understand your genome without giving up your privacy.

Love this, genetic super intelligence coming soon!!
Today we’re launching the lowest price ever for whole genome sequencing: $299. We believe everyone should have access to their genetic data and the tools to understand themselves. Join the current batch at @genomecomputer.

Genomi now supports the `.genome` format! That means you can take a `.genome` file and give your local AI agent: > evidence-grounded answers > up-to-date genetics references > local genome queries > clearer uncertainty when the data cannot support a claim Shoutout to @davieball and the @genomecomputer team for making WGS more accessible! Not sponsored. Just excited about personal genomics infrastructure :)
Introducing Genomi: an open-source agent harness that turns your AI agent into your personal DNA expert. I took a DNA test years ago. Like a lot of people, I got the report, found something interesting, and forgot about it. Recently I gave the data to my codex agent and it was obvious how incredibly useful DNA is for personal health, but: > General AI can sound right while being wrong > Static DNA reports can’t keep up with new science > DNA data should stay on your local device, not uploaded to a website So we built Genomi, local-first, agent-native, self-evolving, evidence-grounded.
