Let's frame the big picture of the evidence for a lab leak origin of #COVID19. This is known for years with no rebuttal from 'zoonosis' fans. Crucially, WHY does NIH heavily redact FOIA disclosures, and why does China conceal all records from WIV if there is nothing to hide?

What's really shocking is that all these virologists were openly discussing inserting an FCS into a SARS-like virus before the pandemic. But when they found a SARS-like virus with an FCS they said it could never have been engineered in!
Inserting furin cleavage sites (FCS) into sarbecoviruses was all the rage pre-pandemic Two potential approaches: either use the canonical FCS (R-X-K/R-R ↓), or mimic a known FCS

Before COVID, an NIH lab chief proposed making a SARS-like bat virus better at infecting people Newly released records show Vincent Munster suggested inserting a furin cleavage site and that his lab obtained unpublished SARS-related sequences. @USRightToKnow usrtk.org/covid-19-origins/b…

I'll never forget the years of sheer nonsense and propaganda people trying to follow the science had to endure to actually get to facts. An absolute wall of unscientific nonsense at every turn. "The Science" being anything but.

Katherine Eban best described Andersen and his colleagues’ efforts to silence the lab-leak hypothesis: “I've investigated gun traffickers, counterfeiters and torturers who have had more civil discourse and taken a higher road than some virologists on Twitter.” Andersen’s conduct is that of a bully seeking to prevent knowledge seeking, not a scientist seeking knowledge.
This is excellent. I find it baffling that some of the voices that criticised COVID-era censorship and anti-lab leak propaganda are now the ones giving Jay flack for this. He's demonstrating principled leadership here imo. Andersen is also speaking tomorrow at a conference I'm attending at Salk. I think he has been scientifically and morally in the wrong re COVID origins, but I am nonetheless excited to hear what he has to say!

I have not discussed the Russian plague accident for two reasons: 1. We have limited, selective information. Speculation is a waste of time. Regardless: 2. Baseline R₀ ~1.2; with rapid isolation and antibiotic ring prophylaxis, the effective reproduction number should fall substantially below 1, probably into the ~0.1–0.4 range under highly effective implementation. Translation: tragic for the young lab tech; no chance of wide-spread disease for the rest of us. Breathless reporting is irresponsible.

If the Irkutsk researcher died of plague, she was presumably unvaccinated and did not receive antibiotics per protocol. Alternatively, the strain was vaccine-evading and antibiotic-resistant. That seldom occurs naturally. Pneumonic plague is only moderately transmissible. 1/5

In the 1990s I worked with Ken Alibek, the former No. 2 in the Soviet biological weapons program, after he defected to the US. He claimed that they had engineered a strain of plague that was antibiotic-resistant & that they had worked on plague chimeras (fusing 2 or more pathogens). He specifically called out Irkutsk for being involved in the BW program. This outbreak is deeply worrisome. This may not be just “the plague.” It may be far worse.

Among Cleveland Clinic employees, the more COVID-19 boosters taken the greater the burden of SARS-CoV-2 infection. The COVID-19 vaccines completely backfired and made it more likely to get the illness. @McCulloughFund

I covered NETosis on my Substack last year. We found evidence of this in 2 clots we sequenced from @KevinMcCairnPhD
Scientists just found a reason for the exhaustion of long COVID — microscopic clots in the blood. The study was published in the Journal of Medical Virology. Researchers discovered that patients with the condition have nearly twenty times more microscopic blood clots than healthy individuals. Unlike typical clots, these 'microclots' are wrapped in sticky, web-like structures made of DNA and enzymes released by white blood cells. These webs, known as neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs), act as structural armor, preventing the body from naturally breaking down the clots. This leads to a persistent blockage in the capillaries—the body's smallest blood vessels—which starves tissues of oxygen and drives chronic inflammation. This discovery marks a massive shift in how post-viral illnesses are understood. Historically, many Long COVID patients struggled to find validation because standard blood tests routinely came back normal. By showing that these microscopic clots are structurally bound to NETs, scientists are paving the way for targeted treatments, such as therapies designed to dissolve these persistent blocks. It also offers a glimmer of hope for millions suffering from other poorly understood chronic conditions, such as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), where similar microclotting patterns have been observed. source: Thierry, A. R., Usher, T., Sanchez, C., Turner, S., Venter, C., Pastor, B., Waters, M., Thompson, A., Mirandola, A., Pisareva, E., Prevostel, C., Laubscher, G. J., Kell, D. B., & Pretorius, E. Circulating Microclots Are Structurally Associated With Neutrophil Extracellular Traps and Their Amounts Are Elevated in Long COVID Patients. Journal of Medical Virology, 97(10), e70613.

I’m still in shock. Trump’s top advisor, and most influential man on the planet, just told the world the US government funded the creation of C19 and are responsible for the deaths of millions worldwide. Shouldn’t the world be stopping? Is this not the biggest news in history?

A US-based investigation of Covid origins should at minimum: 📧 Access all communications and data shared between the Wuhan Institute of Virology and US/international partners including but not limited to the EcoHealth Alliance (now shut down) and University of North Carolina 🧪 Assemble a team of scientists to curate and re-analyze relevant data and methodology e.g. relating to early cases, SC2 and close relative sequences, market and other animal/human sampling efforts 🕵️‍♀️ Evaluate the full range of intel available to US and its allies e.g. Germany's BND assessed lab origin with 80-95% certainty, US doctors in Wuhan said they heard of novel respiratory disease in mid Dec 2019, US intel says military was engaged in coronavirus research at the WIV, pangolin virus samples were sent there, and WIV staff were ill with possibly Covid in Nov 2019 📒 Search funding agencies, journals, databases and even commercial suppliers in the US and its allies for relevant proposals, reports, manuscripts, data entries, purchases And ideally be bipartisan and even international 🌏 in nature, appointing investigators and scientists with a wide range of starting points, so that its findings are not easily politicized. All of this could've been started in 2020 but here we are almost 7 years later with no such investigation in sight for a pandemic that harmed billions of people, killed at least 15 million people, caused an estimated $16 trillion in economic loss to the US alone, and pushed tens of millions of people around the world back into poverty and debt. Without a bipartisan or international consensus on how the pandemic most likely happened, little has been done to prevent it happening all over again. If Covid can be considered a "trigger event" to warn the world of worse bio-catastrophes, there hasn't been any meaningful course correction.
