One thing I think startups need to be comfortable with is the possibility that their target audience might change.
You can launch thinking your product is for women 25–34.
But what happens when your actual buyers tell a different story?
Your original audience was a hypothesis.
Customer behavior gives you evidence.
Be willing to revisit your assumptions.

Looking for a freelance DTC e-commerce copywriter!
I'm helping a wellness supplement brand source someone with experience in:
• High-converting landing pages
• Product packaging copy
• Email marketing (potentially)
Experience with supplements, functional beverages, or wellness brands is a big plus. Conversion analytics required ❗️

One thing UGC has taught me:
Aesthetic content and effective content aren't always the same thing.
You can have beautiful lighting, perfect transitions, and an expensive camera.
But if the viewer doesn't understand why they should care about the product, you've missed something.
The message has to come first.

A potential client once asked me how I'd approach writing a creative brief for their brand.
My answer? Research. Every time.
I can write you a script. That's not the hard part.
But do we actually know WHO we're speaking to?
What frustrates them? What have they tried? What do they believe?
If we don't know, that's where I'm starting.

Your static ad might look great, but are you actually selling what your customers WANT?
Let's talk about the US vs. THEM ad format ⤵️
It's simple, easy to digest, and makes comparing alternatives almost effortless.
But here's what I'd change about this ad:
The brand is selling BENEFITS instead of OUTCOMES.
Customers don't just want to know what your product does. They want to know how their life looks and feels differently because of it.
That's the difference between listing benefits and making someone think, "Wait, I actually NEED this."
I broke down how I'd approach this creative differently from a strategic perspective.
DTC brands: If you're looking for a Creative Strategist who understands customer psychology and can turn those insights into stronger ad concepts, let's work together.

I'm tired of seeing ads called “successful” because they got a lot of views.
Views can be useful.
So can likes, comments and shares.
But if the objective is acquisition, I'm eventually asking:
Did they click?
Did they convert?
What did it cost us?
Did we make money?
Attention is valuable.
Profitable attention is better.

One of the most UNDERRATED tools for creators and creative strategists?
The Wheel of Emotions.
Whether you're scripting an ad or deciding how to deliver it on camera, you need to understand what you want your audience to FEEL.
Curiosity? Frustration? Relief? Desire?
Each emotion changes how you approach the message.
AI can generate a script. But emotional intelligence is what helps you make it RESONATE.
That's where we have the advantage.

I love being a creative strategist
But your editors are the real angels
If you find a really really good one, keep them close
A great editor is a creative strategist best friend
Low hook rate?
Look at the opening.
Good hook rate + bad hold rate?
Look at the body.
Strong engagement + low CTR?
Look at the message/CTA.
Strong CTR + poor CVR?
Now I'm looking further down the funnel too.
THIS is why I love metrics.
They help turn “the ad isn't working” into an actual question we can solve.
#ugc #ugccreator #ugcommunity
A winning ad isn't permission to stop testing.
It's permission to start asking MORE questions.
What exactly made it win?
Can the angle work in another format?
Can another creator deliver it?
Can we push the pain point further?
Can we test another awareness level?
A winner shouldn't end your testing roadmap.
It should EXPAND it.
#ugc #ugccreator #ugcommunity
Your CPA is high.
Okay…but WHY?
That's the question a creative strategist should be asking.
Are people not stopping?
Are they watching but not clicking?
Are they clicking but not converting?
Is the offer weak?
Are we attracting the wrong person?
“CPA is too high” is the symptom.
I want to find the leak.
#ugc #ugccreator #ugcommunity
More creative ≠ more creative strategy.
You can produce 50 ads this month and learn absolutely nothing if you're randomly changing everything.
I would rather know:
What are we testing?
Why are we testing it?
What changed?
What stayed controlled?
What did performance teach us?
Volume without learning is just…volume.

Your Black Friday ad might be converting, but is it convincing anyone new to buy?
I was analyzing a Black Friday static ad offering 40–60% off. Clear offer, strong contrast, simple messaging.
For a warm audience? It could work.
But for cold audiences, I'd test adding a bestselling product and a benefit-led message.
Why? Because a discount creates urgency, but product context gives people a reason to care.
Good creative strategy isn't about making ads prettier. It's about understanding WHO the ad is speaking to, WHY it might work, and WHAT to test next.
Brands, are you testing your creatives by audience awareness or running the same messaging across the board?

Sometimes your audience isn't tired of your PRODUCT.
They're tired of seeing the same AD.
Big difference.
If frequency is climbing while performance is declining, I'm looking at creative fatigue.
New hooks.
New formats.
New creators.
New angles.
New awareness levels.
You don't always need a new offer.
Sometimes people just need a new reason to pay attention.
#ugc #ugccreator #ugcommunity
Want your ads to sound less like ads?
Stop writing everything from the brand’s vocabulary.
Go read how CUSTOMERS describe the problem.
The weird phrases.
The specific complaints.
The words they repeat.
The way they explain the problem to strangers.
Sometimes your best copywriter is sitting in the review section and doesn't even know they're working for you
#ugc #ugccreator #ugcommunity
AI isn't ruining creative strategy.
Lazy use of AI might.
Because if 500 strategists ask the same tool:
“Give me 10 hooks for this product.”
And nobody adds customer research, brand context, performance data or an actual POV…
Guess what?
We’re all about to make the SAME ad
AI should accelerate your process.
Not flatten your thinking.
#ugc #ugccreator #ugcommunity
You can write an AMAZING ad to the wrong awareness level and still lose.
Someone who doesn't understand their problem yet needs a different conversation than someone comparing your product to 3 competitors.
Same product.
Same customer.
Completely different message.
Creative strategy isn't only WHAT you say.
It's knowing what your customer is ready to hear.
#ugc #ugccreator #ugcommunity
Your losing ads deserve research too.
I said it.
Everyone wants to dissect the winner.
But the loser tells you something too.
Maybe the angle didn't resonate.
Maybe the hook attracted the wrong person.
Maybe awareness was off.
Maybe execution killed a strong concept.
“Didn't work” isn't a learning.
WHY didn't it work?
That's where strategy starts.
