The industry is suffering, the housing market for high-rise residential properties is collapsing, leaseholders are facing huge bills, and some have sadly already lost their homes. @ukcag @EOCS_Official @SMcPartland britsafe.org/publications/sa…

Company directors owe an inviolable duty to spend company money in a way that increases long-term shareholder value. Directors of companies spending company money on political donations yet claiming there's nothing in it for the company is nonsense.
No link between £18m donations to party from property firms and relaxing planning laws, Conservatives say

The #BuildingSafetyBill doesn't only let down leaseholders in blocks below 18 metres or those where fire risks aren't about cladding It's also a market-based approach when *leaving it to the market* is what created the problem in the first place #Brighton carolinelucas.com/latest/bui…

I might just be a working class lass from London but this helpful fact-check I think confirms Johnson is a liar. 🤔 If I'm wrong @BorisJohnson come to the commons (in Sept) and correct the record in accordance with the Ministerial code. xitter.cf/fullfact/status/141861…
Dawn Butler MP accused Boris Johnson of lying yesterday, and was asked to leave the House of Commons. We do not know if the PM was ‘lying’. But the majority of Mr Johnson’s claims that Ms Butler mentioned were either false or misleading. Thread 👇 fullfact.org/news/dawn-butle…

The Tory Health Secretary has been earning £1,500 an HOUR over the last year working for a US banking giant. Now he says we can't afford a proper pay rise for nurses. It's one rule for them and another for everyone else.

Can someone explain to me why the Conservative Party remains so popular, they have absolutely no integrity or heart, most would run over their own grandmas if it meant they could get ahead in their careers, save for some. The vaccine rollout success will eventually diminish!

Pleased to speak in the #BuildingSafetyBill last night. While there's lots to be welcomed in the Bill, we must do much more to protect innocent leaseholders, many of whom are already burdened with debt because of safety defects not their fault. They cannot be expected to pay.
'A scandal frankly, of poor workmanshop that won't go away' @neill_bob thank you. We have a long way to go. #EndOurCladdingScandal

An overhaul of the building regulations and fire safety regime is long overdue. But the #BuildingSafetyBill fails to protect leaseholders from the costs of remediating historic cladding and non-cladding defects. Clip from my speech in today’s debate ⬇️

Thank you @MikeAmesburyMP great speech 👇
The Building Safety Bill arrived without a way out of this crisis leaseholders were promised. We need a cast-iron guarantee the Government will protect leaseholds from costs. And we need a plan to get buildings found, fixed, funded with money recovered from those responsible.
