The crown court I’m at today has 19 hearings in 5 rooms, incl. 2 pleas, 2 trials & 6 sentences.
CourtsDesk gave details of each case in seconds so I knew what to prioritise.
Crown courts have no detailed lists. Staff cannot possibly give details of circa 19 cases every morning.
Journalists’ right of access to court information has not been affected.
Open justice remains fundamental to @MoJGovUK. Journalists continue to have full access to court listings and hearings so they can report freely and accurately.
Shame to see this decision made.
CourtsDesk made my job that little bit easier when ensuring defendants details were up to date and probably gave busy court clerks & ushers a break from my constant nagging for DOBs and addresses!
