Great event today at @Oracle Sydney, meeting new Australia and NZ MD Stephen Bovis, hearing from customers of Oracle and visiting their brilliant #innovation labs.
Thanks so much to @sancharini for the kind invitation!

Important data (and great charts) from @climatetech_vc on quarterly venture investment. Key points:
*1H 2022 funding is down from 2H 2021, but up on 1H 2021
*Total number of investment rounds is up and up
*Decline in $ entirely from giant growth rounds ctvc.co/19b-2022-midyear-upd…

Here’s to the real heroes of the weekend - those braving the elements to staff vaccination centres up and down the country. RT if you’d like to salute them rather than the vocal minority. #getboosted
Fantastic article @VeronikaMeduna - so much time wasted, time to see action/results.
The #COP26Glasgow summit marks the deadline for the 2nd round of national climate pledges. @ClimateCommNZ says NZ's current pledge is inconsistent with the 1.5°C goal and the govt has committed to increasing it; my @NorthSouthNZ story on why it matters northandsouth.co.nz/2021/10/…

Some thoughts on Covid, “tyranny”, vaccinations and the idea that we’re living under some kind of dictatorship:
This is a very good article about the housing affordability crisis in Aotearoa, New Zealand. The moral, social and economic consequences of this will be enormous, action is urgently required.
This is the ugliest and most despairing column I have ever written.

What I really love about the #TheQueensGambit is that it has a female protagonist, set in the 60s and all (apart from one, that i can think of) of the male characters are actually really lovely and supportive of Beth. Unusual.

Moved back to New Zealand just in time for lockdown.. interesting to see the contrast between local reactions to COVID and what is happening in the USA. Proud to be a Kiwi.

Great article. Please NZ, don’t fall into this trap!
