brb, setting up an automatic daily email to Sundar Pichai, just laughing... Man, Google is such a dumb company, and has been for so long.

I had a theory that Kendrick may have been Hip-Hops last solo Super Bowl show, forgetting that Roc Nation have editorial powers Jay would eventually use for himself.

There was a company making CDs with vinyl on the printed side a few years ago. I wish I had one, but I thought it was such a bad idea I never bothered even paying £5 for one.
Anyone seen the 4" vinyl yet? They selling 2 songs for $14.99 Even a turntable for 4" vinyl.

My dad loves to tell the story of going to an audio convention and learning about a new 4 inch record that could fit an entire LP on it. Incredible new technology, the CD.

While we're here, might as well do the album one too. There are way more I'd want to put on here, and there are a tonne of artists who miss out because the album format sucks. Nine is tough, could probably swap out Jackson Frank, and maybe Troubadour could get the K'Naan spot...

Machamp and Meowth were the first couple promos I had, Mew was the first single card I ever bought. Middle row is the dead zone, some cards I love from between then and now. Last row is recent favourites since I started playing competitively again. Been around for a while...

It's fascinating to me that Pitchfork is the only publication capable of generating discussion around music reviews. Good or bad, it's always the Pitchfork number driving the discourse.

Been looking ahead to the next format, and I really liked this idea. Further convinced Talonflame is the best card in Delta Reign, combining it with Dusknoir is something that could be very powerful. – at Natick, MA

Spent this weekend ill watching Brisbane and Frankfurt regionals, and wishing I had another trip lined up. This might be the year I play more than two regionals, genuinely had nothing but positive experiences win or lose.

This deck looked super fun on stream, happy to see the success here. I'm excited to try out the Talonflame/Mega Ray combination once we get this set.

Played in Baltimore this weekend, got my first day 2, finished 203rd. Wasn't sure what to play last week, ended up with Nathan's top 8 worlds list, and after 35 games over the weekend I really don't think I'd change a card. – at Newton, MA

Every time I play a regional, I can't help but think about how much I enjoy playing this game. The people in this community are so kind and chill, can't wait for the next one.

What a bizarre list of records... Simz record isn't her best, Missy's isn't her best, Woods is nice but too high, The Streets albums are not that good. Oh, and Coloring Book? Coloring Book?
Metacritic Highest Reviewed albums from Rappers What albums are missing from this list?

every time there's a new Drake album, I see a lot of people talking about it, and none of that chat makes me want to listen to it. not sure I've listened to a whole project of his since covid, and I don't think I'm missing out on anything at all

Freddy gets straight to the point here. The development of rap and the development of deejaying (in Jamaica) both come from the same source, radio DJs, more like cousins than a direct line early on. Fascinating divergence, and then intertwining of culture across decades.
Fab 5 Freddy sets the record straight saying Hip Hop’s origin had nothing to do with Jamaica but everything to do with Black American culture

So much of, well, everything that has happened to music in the last 100 years has happened because of technology. Engineers shape the landscape, and then musicians find the gaps they can sit in.
cracked DAWs running on consumer-grade computers are an order of magnitude cheaper than proper musical instruments and the high cost of housing means spaces to practice and play shows are pricier. it's like how big bands disappeared when amplification made small bands competitive

This is where dancehall comes from, the DIY sound systems, it was a technical solution. Hip Hop was a technical solution, the advent of mobile DJs was the set up. Everything from the 60s to today is linked to recording and production capabilities.

This is a reason I like the beatles so much. Once they had a little spending money, they pressed the limits of what they could do in production. honourable mention to Jimi for the same reason.

Been watching the merseyside derby, and the commentators keep praising the ref for letting the game flow, then again, now 3 players have gone off injured, and Konate should be off too...

Pokopia is so good that our household would benefit from a second Switch 2, all 3 of us are committed to this game now
