The growing circulation of counterfeit products in Nigeria, including toothpaste, medicines and beverages, has raised concerns over public health and safety, as consumers face increasing risks from potentially harmful goods. While the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) continues to regulate products, public vigilance remains crucial in identifying fake goods and exposing illegal manufacturing activities. Nigerians are urged to report suspicious products and production sites to the relevant authorities, as timely action and community awareness can help curb the spread of counterfeit goods and protect lives. “The next rent you pay should be your last.” 2: I just came across this quote, and @mreifng is waiting for you 3: With President Tinubu’s vision of a $1 trillion economy, homeownership and investment in real estate must become part of Nigeria’s economic transformation. 4: Why keep paying rent forever when you can start exploring the path to owning your own home? 5: Your rent is building your landlord’s wealth. 6: Your next move should build yours and that is the objective of @mofinigeria

If we must get it right in 2027, Nigeria needs serious leadership. I have listened to @PeterObi speak on fundamental national issues, and I remain unconvinced that he has the depth of policy thinking or economic ideas required to lead Nigeria at a time like this. All I hear from him are promises that: 1. He will be compassionate. 2. He will not spend his holidays abroad if elected. 3. He will visit every state in Nigeria. 4. He and his family will not be corrupt. But when it comes to policy ideas and economic fundamentals, he either adopts ideas proposed by others, such as reversing the fuel subsidy removal, or agrees with existing policies, such as retaining the floating exchange rate for the naira. Obi has yet to demonstrate a firm grasp of the policies Nigeria needs. When pressed on core economic issues, his response often amounts to “Don't worry, I will do it” or a claim that he has done it before. Nigeria's presidency is too consequential to be won on the strength of content creation, social media popularity and campaign sound bites. Aso Rock is not a content creation studio. Nigeria needs a president with depth, clear policy positions and a coherent economic vision—not just promises and social media vibes.
Obi: I’ll not spend holidays abroad if elected president Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), says he will not spend his holidays abroad if elected president in the 2027 elections. In his address on Thursday to mark Nigeria’s 66th Independence Day anniversary, Obi said he would spend his vacations across Nigeria if elected president, adding that he would “lead by example”. “In four years as president of this great nation, I will not spend my holidays outside Nigeria. My holidays will be spent in Zamfara state; Borno state; Kwara state; Ebonyi state; Edo state; Ekiti state and other Nigerian states,” Obi said. “I want to continue to see Nigeria. I want to know Nigeria. I want to spend time with Nigerians, listen to them, understand their challenges and celebrate their resilience.” thecable.ng/obi-ill-not-spen…

Ndi good governance are currently in a coma. Schoolchildren in Nnewi walk through a village river to get to school daily… but change the state to somewhere else, ‘good governance’ advocates would start raising hell 🤗

“The way you grow a society is not to force prices down, is to make income grow faster than inflation and population growth rates.” – Taiwo Oyedele
One person’s spending is another person's income. I have said it several times in my posts. It is the fundamental basis of the circular flow of income. Every time someone demands lower prices for goods, they are demanding lower revenue for businesses. Prices and income are two sides of the same economic coin, demanding lower consumer prices and higher worker wages at the same time is a contradiction.

1/3 Dear Blessing, I watched your video and listened as you explained how your journey from Masaka to Berger in the FCT now costs ₦500 instead of ₦1,500. That is ₦1,000 saved every trip. I know what that means when you have a family to feed, bills to pay and other responsibilities waiting at home. I was equally pleased to hear from Ada and Abigail, who now pay ₦1,600 instead of ₦4,000 to travel from Enugu to Nsukka, saving ₦2,400 on each journey. I also listened to Kabir, a taxi driver who explained that ₦10,000 worth of CNG allows him to make three more return trips than his colleagues using petrol. He says he has no intention of going back to petrol. I have also received encouraging feedback from Borno, where some commuters are now paying as little as ₦50 per trip on CNG and electric vehicles. Your various experiences show what our investment in CNG transportation is intended to achieve. Lower operating costs for drivers should translate into more affordable fares for passengers, leaving families with more money for their everyday needs. When we removed the petrol subsidy, I knew the decision would bring difficulties for many households. With that decision came a responsibility to provide practical alternatives that would ease transportation costs. Your stories show this is already happening, and I want more Nigerians to experience these benefits.

JUST IN: The FG has ordered all government offices to buy vehicles only from approved companies that assemble cars in Nigeria. Under the Nigeria First Policy, buying vehicles from abroad now requires the President’s approval. This will support local jobs and businesses.

Thank you, Mr President @officialABAT. Of the many projects in Taraba State, this one is especially close to my heart. Whenever they chase me out of Abuja, at least I can enjoy a smooth drive back to my ranch. 😅 Every government since 1961 promised to build this important road for us, but none delivered. Today, in just over two years, we can drive smoothly on this road and across the Taraba River safely. Hundreds of lives were lost here because of the difficult terrain, particularly during the rainy season, when boat mishaps were tragically common. #ArewaforAsiwaju #A4A

I am very sure the so-called overnight policy buffs will never read this. The World Bank has just given me another hammer to pummel most of you with facts that the reforms are working and states are big beneficiaries. I can predict most of you will seek refuge in your usual shenanigan to discredit the report. I will remind you with evidence where you referenced same institution when their report was gloomy. Forensic lamba will spank all of you until you start seeing Labalaba.

@WBG_Nigeria says Nigeria’s stabilization is strengthening: growth, revenues, reserves, & infrastructure spending are improving, debt pressures are easing, & if reforms are sustained, growth & poverty reduction should improve further Slides: thedocs.worldbank.org/en/doc… #Tinubunomics
