ALT Guide Dogs of the Desert pups are born with a purpose- to become a guide dog for someone who is blind or visually impaired. Although not all puppies complete training to have this job, many of them find another job or career that is better aligned with who they are. No matter what they do or where they go, they are there with purpose. And it is because of volunteer puppy raisers that it is possible for them to do that. The training, love and time poured into each puppy gives them the fundamental skills they need to be successful. Watching them look at the world in wonder is a contagious joy. And watching them thrive in their future because of what was given to them from a young age is an indescribably kind of reward. “There are no words to really explain the magic when you see a puppy learn a skill for the first time; experience real firsts out in the world… or when you see them graduate in their new career. To see them happy and thriving doing what they love most…it’s one of the best
