The details of the 31.67% of the Form 7 filed in Delhi have not been made public. When as per ECI manual, they have to be mandatorily made public.

There is no sound legal reason to detain Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka. They must be released immediately.

Wow, what a criminal racket Gyanesh and gang have been running in the ECI. Hardcoded exclusion in ECINET code for EROs and AEROs, only in West Bengal, to prevent them from reviewing voters' enumeration forms and viewing the notice-and-hearing dashboard.

Abduction of citizens by cops in unmarked cars in the national capital in the presence of media can't be normalised. That is like the frog in the boiling water syndrome. The courts have to wake up and punish the top Delhi cop, make an example of him, lest we next see encounters.

20 year olds who are building because that's socially approved vs 20 year olds who are protesting because they'd like to build what's not allowed… I know which I'd like more of.
India needs more young people who build things. These 20 yr olds aren't simply protesting or complaining about what's wrong. They're building solutions to move the country forward. We need more of this.

A number of protesters who were injured during the weekend protests and subsequent detentions by the Delhi Police were left with swollen fingers, bruised bodies, and bleeding necks and heads, but say that when the police took them to hospital for treatment, they were denied copies of their medico-legal case (MLC) details and their patient summaries. ✍️ @ButaniAshna thehindu.com/news/national/h…

The brutal daylight murder of anti-drug activist Parvinder Jhota has shattered whatever little credibility was left of the AAP government's empty claims on law and order. And how does Finance Minister @AdvHarpalCheema respond? By casually dismissing a targeted execution as a "personal rivalry" the exact same callous playbook this government used just weeks ago after Gulzar Singh ji died by suicide after publicly questioning Cheema about the unchecked drug menace. From past high profile murders to the daily bloodshed across our streets, Punjab has been plunged into lawlessness under @BhagwantMann watch. They are too busy funding Delhi campaigns and staging photo ops to care about a bleeding Punjab.
#WATCH | On an anti-drug activist shot dead in Mansa, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann says, "A very unfortunate incident has occurred in Mansa, in which social worker Parminder Singh Jhota was shot dead. I want to make it clear that the Punjab Police will leave no stone unturned in this matter. The culprits will face the strictest possible punishment. If anyone else is found to be behind the conspiracy, they too will not be spared. We have waged a war across Punjab against all forms of drugs, and no one will be granted any leeway or shown any leniency. It does not matter who the person is or how far-reaching their connections are. I also express my condolences to Parminder Singh Jhota's family; such an incident should never have happened. I have issued strict instructions to the DGP to conduct a thorough investigation into this matter and ensure the truth is fully revealed..." (Source: CMO)

This past weekend, thousands of anti-government protesters were arrested in New Delhi. A movement that began several months ago, and was initially focussed on demands to reform India’s education system, has now centered itself around the government’s decision to remove more than 100 million people from the country’s voter rolls. “By sheer numbers, this is one of the largest-ever exercises of disenfranchisement in the history of the world,” Yogendra Yadav, an activist and political scientist says. Read Isaac Chotiner’s full conversation with Yadav about the widespread unrest in Narendra Modi’s India and the aggressive action taken by a panic-stricken regime that knows it is losing popularity: newyorker.com/news/q-and-a/i…

What a real shame you are to this nation, @DelhiPolice! Choking, scratching, and kicking female @NSUI student with heavy boots in broad daylight just because they dared to raise their voices against vote chori? You hide behind uniforms and state power to inflict physical violence and grotesque humiliation on young women who pose no threat to anyone. Day after day, your bosses preach hypocritical nonsense about women's safety, respect, and protection, yet the exact second those same women demand democratic rights and accountability, you unleash your inner animals upon them. Dragging them by their hair, crushing them under heavy boots, and assaulting their bodily integrity exposes the absolute rot at the heart of this system. You really think a badge gives you a free pass to act like violent goon with absolute impunity? Suspensions and internal inquiries are a complete joke. Accountability isn't enough anymore every single officer involved in this cowardly assault needs to be fired and brought to justice .

In late 1988, a quiet, brilliant academic finishing a teaching assignment in London School of Economics (LSE) joined a group of peace activists with a radical plan. It was an unlikely beginning for a man who would help change how India fought poverty. A Thread. 1/17

Jean Drèze has more dignified ground work than the entire RW ecosystem. He didn't just study rural India, he lived in jhuggis alongside them. To be him you don’t just need education, but principles, integrity & deep solidarity with masses - qualities that bootlickers can’t have.

Most Indians don't know this, but the Dreze family are literally academic royalty in Belgium. Jean's brother the late Xavier Dreze was a highly regarded Marketing professor at UCLA's Anderson School of Management. He was one of the very very few who could do both modeling and consumer behavior research. He died very young at age 48. His obituary says he was a true polymath with multiple academic and sporting talents. Jean's father the late Jacques Dreze was an economist at the Université Catholique de Louvain. He was a highly regarded economist and the first president of the European Economic Association. He has collaborated with nobel laureates Robert Aumann and Franco Modigliani and his publication record is comparable with the best in the field. Jean Dreze could have had a very cushy life with his family legacy, white skin and European passport. Even in India, he could have been a social butterfly flitting in and out of five star hotels and running think tanks funded hy veated interests. Instead, he took Indian citizenship, learnt Hindi and roughs it out in rural Jharkhand. He designed many schemes and his footprint is all over Indian economic policy. You may like him or hate him. But Jean Dreze is more Indian than anyone who was born Indian, including you and me. He chose to be Indian. And he has dedicated his life to India. Think of this the next time some illiterate journalist asks "Who is Jean Dreze?"

Why did you delete the part where I was asking for my phone so I could retrieve my cousin’s number? And where I was asking to let me speak to my lawyers? The same Delhi Police which is now taking the moral high ground for informing me about my grandmother’s demise and offering me a ride home came to me at 3:30 in the morning with arrest papers, demanding that I sign them. Where did all that humanity go at 3:30 AM? Despite knowing that I had just lost my grandmother, they still insisted that I sign the arrest papers. I refused until I was allowed to speak to my lawyers.
