Our model performs equally well cross race and think groups including Asian women. It predicts DCIS and invasive breast cancer equally well.
A risk prediction model generated from both current and prior mammograms showed robust performance across diverse racial and ethnic populations. ja.ma/3HnuTgm
Our model including the images from prior screening mammograms validates with robust and superior performance to using only one mammogram. This performs across a cross range of race and ethnic groups including Asian women. Wonderful to complete this work with data umbi

Reduced smoking = fewer cancer deaths. From 1970–2022, reductions in smoking accounted for 51.4% of of the drop in overall lung cancer mortality. Declines in cancer deaths were greater in men (60.1%) than in women (42.7%).

Development and Validation of Dynamic 5-Year Breast Cancer Risk Model Using Repeated Mammograms Out on JCO Clinical Cancer Informatics
Study developed and validated a dynamic #BreastCancer (BC) risk prediction model that incorporates multiple years of previous mammogram images to improve 5-year risk estimates. The model was trained on a cohort of 10,099 cancer-free women and validated on an external cohort of 18,360 women. The dynamic model significantly outperformed models using only the most recent mammogram, achieving an AUC of 0.80 for 5-year risk prediction compared to 0.74 for static models (p < .01). It identified high-risk women, including 61% of diagnosed BC cases, and performed well across both Black and White women. The findings suggest that using a woman's screening history can enhance BC risk prediction and help guide decisions for supplemental screening or preventive interventions.
