If you oppose Paul Kagame, and you run to another country, he follows you there and kills you right there. He killed someone in South Africa and Germany... Today, he followed a former Army General, Robert Kabera, 50, beheaded him in Uganda and had his people carry the head back to Kigali...

President William Ruto’s brother, Paul Ruto, who reportedly lives in a small mud house in Kamagut, Eldoret North, has opened up about the alleged source of their family feud. Paul says their differences began over the division of their ancestral land following their father’s death. He reportedly survives on casual jobs, including digging on other people’s farms and construction work, while his children struggle with school fees. His biggest pain? Watching his wealthy brother give millions to strangers while he continues to struggle.

Even on Mashujaa Day, the chief abductor and his squad are still at work, targeting innocent Kenyans. I have learnt with great concern of the unconstitutional and arbitrary arrest of Francis Ode, a renowned Citizen TV journalist, alongside activists who were protesting against the recent fuel price hikes in Nairobi. While the President spends hours addressing and lying to Kenyans during Mashujaa Day celebrations, his Predator Regime is busy arresting journalists and activists for exercising their constitutional rights. Article 33 of our Constitution guarantees freedom of expression, Article 34 protects freedom of the media, while Article 37 expressly guarantees every Kenyan the right to assemble, demonstrate, picket and present petitions peacefully and unarmed. These are fundamental constitutional rights, not privileges granted at the pleasure of those in power. It is deeply shameful that on a day when we honour the heroes who fought for our freedoms, those very freedoms continue to come under attack. Kenya is a constitutional democracy, not a police state. No regime is above the Constitution!

99% of women and girls in Somalia have been mutilated in the following way: the clitoris is cut off, along with the inner labia. Then the inner flesh of the outer labia is removed before both sides are sewn tightly together, leaving a hole no bigger than a matchstick for urine and menses to trickle through. All of this is done in childhood, and without any form of anesthesia whatsoever. Sometimes the little girl is given a scrap of leather or a stick to bite down on. The cutters use old razor blades, or sometimes a piece of broken glass. This is only the beginning of a girl’s pain. Most wedding nights in Somalia are aided by “the little knife” — that is, the new husband slices his bride open so that he can penetrate her now cut and bleeding scar tissue. Some men, however, simply batter their way through, tearing that tiny hole open by sheer force. When a woman goes into labor, she’s cut open more widely, then sewn back up afterwards so that when sex resumes she will have to be cut open yet again. This practice leads to countless deaths from infection and a drastic increase in maternal mortality, but Somali men still refuse to marry uncut women, forcing mothers to have their daughters cut or face social stigma. Uncut girls are seen as dirty; the term for clitoris is a playground taunt in Somalia, and girls who are not cut are usually ostracized by their peers. The Somali government recently debated the legality of this appalling custom, and the parliament largely split along gender lines. Female MPs roundly condemned FGM, while male MPs insisted that having a clitoris made a woman more difficult to penetrate, and quoted the hadith in which Muhammad condoned the practice. These are educated men who nevertheless claim that cutting a girl is necessary in order to control her sexuality, and that an uncut woman will be promiscuous and untrustworthy. In spite of the Somali government’s continued support for FGM, foreign aid continues to flow into Somalia unobstructed. The West should refuse to give the Somali government so much as a single dollar until they outlaw FGM and take positive steps to combat the problem. One tactic that has been highly successful involves showing Somali men a video of a girl being mutilated. Because FGM is seen as women’s business, most men have no idea what it entails. Men who watch this video are horrified, and the most common reaction has been “Not my daughter!” This proves that FGM is not hopelessly entrenched in Somali culture. Western pressure and resources could make an enormous difference in the lives of Somali women and girls, and put a stop to this barbaric practice.

KALONZO — THE TRANSITIONAL PRESIDENT Kenya needs experience, integrity, constitutionalism and national unity. As Kibaki’s Vice President, Kalonzo served during a period of significant economic growth. As Foreign Affairs Minister, he represented Kenya internationally and was involved in regional peace efforts, including South Sudan and Somalia. His political experience, legal background and long service in public office form the basis of his case for the presidency. As a senior lawyer, he would be expected to scrutinise legislation carefully, uphold the Constitution and protect Kenyans from harmful provisions hidden in bills. Kenya needs leadership that puts public interest above personal enrichment, respects the rule of law and confronts corruption through accountable institutions. Kalonzo’s pitch is simple: EXPERIENCE. INTEGRITY. STABILITY. NATIONAL RECONCILIATION. The question is whether he can translate that record into the reforms and accountable leadership Kenya urgently needs.

Ps sports @ElijahGMwangi , you went on NTV to lie about my registration, i proved you wrong, and as if not enough. The federation is making dangerous claims, the same federation that received my money Ksh. 380,000 and they have never given me. Why were you receiving me after african Championship then?? Is this how you avoid accountability?? The cs sports @Waziri_Mvurya , when hardworking Kenyan athletes are in danger because of incompetent ministry officials, serious questions arise. Regardless of the ill treatment, we shall fight to make sure that our dignity is not something to play around with, not now, not in the future. – at Nairobi, Kenya

Dear friends, during some recent medical examinations, the doctors found a small, localized nodule in my lung. It was detected at a very early stage and is well-localized. The doctors believe that it is best to intervene, so, following their advice, I have decided to undergo surgery to remove it. The operation is already scheduled to take place in the coming days. I thank you for your spiritual closeness and entrust myself to your prayers.

In 2022, we walked door-to-door, singing their anthem, in the hope of uplifting our people. We bought into their vision only to be dealt with deception! Just as I participated in building UDA here, I promise I will also be the One to bury it.

A Luo landlord threw Josephine Chepngeno, 38, and her four children out of their house over KSh 12,800 in rent arrears. They spent four nights in the cold before a struggling Kikuyu tenant opened her door and took them in. Tonight, I went to see them and took them food. My wife prayed with Josephine. They cried together. I stood there watching them, hurting inside. I didn't cry. Men don't cry, or so we pretend. But some things break your heart in ways words cannot explain. Imagine being a mother of four, watching your children lose the one place they called home, with nowhere to go and nobody to turn to. Josephine comes from Belgut, Kericho. She wants to go home and start again. But her belongings are still locked inside the house, and she needs help recovering them and raising fare for the journey home. The woman sheltering her is also struggling financially. Yet she found room for another mother's pain when the rest of the world looked away. Please, let us rescue Josephine and her four little children. Your KSh 100 matters. Your KSh 200 matters. Whatever you can give could help unlock her belongings, get this family home and give a desperate mother a chance to begin again. Please don't scroll past this. Those children did nothing wrong. They deserve warmth, safety and a chance at a better tomorrow. To support Josephine 0714343779. May heavens touch our hearts and give this family a new beginning. – at Ruiru, Kenya
