Weird that Afleck understands this but Anthropic doesn't.
Pope Leo gets it too.
Ben Affleck says AI is simply matrix multiplication, linear algebra and floating point calculations, and however convincingly it sounds like a person, it has nothing to do with thought, humanity or feeling
“Nor do I believe, and I think it’s important to draw the distinction between what AI does, which is simply predict the next token or the next word in a sentence, then add that word on, run it back to the machine, do a lot of computation and pick the next word."
"That is a very different thing than sentience or thought. And I think we need to be really clear about that because it can be convincingly, in an illusory way, sound like thought or like a person."
"But let’s be real clear. This is matrix multiplication. This is linear algebra. These are floating point calculations. It has nothing to do with thought, humanity, or feeling.”

This is actually a great analogy because one actually exists the other is a spectacle for shareholders.

Ruaridh Mollica confirms Tommy is bisexual in ‘VISIONQUEST’:
“I feel like Marvel did a great job by casting a bisexual actor for this and it’s such an honor to be portraying that in the MCU. I feel so seen. These queer twin brothers in the MCU together … it’s so cool. I hope that me being bisexual and playing this part is good for people to feel seen and represented.”

This is how it SHOULD be.
The, "you'll own nothing and be happy about it" mentality needs to go.

Sony shouldn't be allowed to sell you a digital game when it's actually a rental. #NoDiscNoBuy
🚨🎮 SONY GOES BEFORE A FEDERAL JUDGE TOMORROW. GAMERS, PAY ATTENTION!
This might get good!
October 15, 2026, could be an interesting day for PlayStation gamers.
A federal court will hold a final approval hearing in Caccuri v. Sony Interactive Entertainment, involving a proposed $7.85 MILLION settlement over restrictions on third-party digital game sales.
If you ask me, Sony is getting off light. And here's the kicker: eligible gamers with active accounts are set to receive PlayStation Store wallet credits rather than money they can take to the bank.
Even when Sony settles, Sony still gets to keep the money inside its own ecosystem.
And that's what makes this particularly interesting.
A judge rejected an earlier settlement proposal in 2025. Now Sony is back seeking approval of a revised agreement.
It's nowhere near enough!
I digress...
Let's be clear. This isn't a trial to determine whether Sony violated the law. The judge will decide whether the proposed settlement is fair, reasonable, and adequate.
But here's my question.
Does a settlement really protect consumers if the business practices that prompted the lawsuit remain unchanged?
I've said it before. Digital gaming isn't the problem. The problem is losing meaningful choices where we purchase games, what we actually own, and how much control we retain.
Tomorrow's hearing won't settle the entire digital ownership debate. But it certainly puts Sony's digital distribution practices back under the microscope.
And $7.85 million? For a company of Sony's size, gamers have every reason to question whether that's meaningful accountability or simply another business expense. " Sony's magic checkbook".
I'll be watching closely.
Gamers, what do you think? Should compensation for restricted digital purchasing choices come in the form of credits that send you right back to the same storefront?
