This is literally my favorite bit of all time.
James Gandolfini hosting Saturday Night Live is a reminder that the man behind Tony Soprano had far more range than people sometimes give him credit for.
Watching him step outside that intense, intimidating Mafia-boss persona and embrace comedy is a different kind of pleasure. Gandolfini had incredible screen presence, but he also understood timing, awkwardness, and how to make a character funny without trying too hard.
That’s part of what made Tony Soprano so compelling in the first place. Gandolfini could make you fear the guy, laugh at him, and occasionally feel sorry for him all in the same episode.
Seeing him in a completely different setting makes you appreciate the actor even more.
Tony Soprano was legendary, but James Gandolfini was the talent that made him unforgettable.
James Gunn says he’s open to a ‘Batman Beyond’ film in the future.
“I love Batman Beyond. So that’s a great thing for the future. And I think that’s something that originated in animation that could be a good movie.”
