People living with mental illness are priority populations for HIV/STI prevention but lack access to sexual health services. Several opportunities to improve care.
Amazing work led by @SamuelRBunting1 and @UChiPritzker students @garyxwang and Roger Yu

Deeply grateful to the patients who entrusted me with their stories this year, and excited to draw on lessons learned from them as I further explore how we can make care more accessible and affordable for all

Payment models drive organizational behavior.
At UPMC Western Maryland, we find that hospital global budgets led to innovative diabetes programs that durably reduced A1c +hospitalizations and addressed unmet social needs.

If there’s one thing I know about clinic with Dr. Cifu…I’m gonna get my money’s worth!
Me and Afib now 🤝🏼🤝🏼
Quizzing my medical student on afib today in clinic. Came up with a great new question (which he answered, BTW). Informed him "these are your tuition dollars at work!"
He was amused, credit to the wonderful @UChiPritzker students!

In this vignette-based study, med students were least likely to prescribe #PrEP to pts who planned to stop condom use after initiation
Example of how bias perpetuates gatekeeping and the need for early #MedEd around shared decision-making, sexual health, and harm reduction!
Today in #JAIDS, med students least likely to prescribe #PrEP in pts planning to stop condom use. #MedEd needed around #harmreduction & #sexualhealth. Great collab w/ @SamuelRBunting1 @BFeinsteinPhD Sarah Calabrese @NeeralSheth @garyxwang & Sarah Garber
