35 years ago tonight, the BBC showed Man Utd’s FA Cup semi-final replay against Oldham, whilst ITV screened the Division One game between Arsenal and Aston Villa.
It was the very first time that the two main channels had gone head-to-head with 2 different domestic live matches.
