A full life is a gift. A career in golf is a privilege. Having my story told is a humbling honour. My heart is full—full of gratitude for those who brought this documentary to life and full of love for the people who made the journey so extraordinary.
You start out just wanting to win that first tournament. Then one day, you look back and realize the journey of a champion became something far greater than trophies or titles.
This is my story… of how a young boy from Africa dared to conquer the world.
I have spent 73 years in professional golf and have been a proud member of the PGA and PGA TOUR for decades. This game has given me so much, and I feel a responsibility to speak up for its future. Many people may not realise that the formation of the modern PGA TOUR was also a period of disagreement within professional golf. We have faced division before, but one truth has never changed. We have the privilege of earning our living on the golf course because of the fans and sponsors who support us. We must never lose sight of that.
The spirit of the Presidents Cup from last week should remind us that fierce competition and mutual respect belong together. That same spirit should guide the PGA TOUR, LIV Golf and everyone with a responsibility to our game. We can have our differences and still work towards a common goal. Golf fans around the world want to see the best players compete against one another week in and week out. I want to see Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau competing regularly against Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy, not just at our major championships. My hope is that we can finally put the divisions of recent years behind us and make that possible.
Even more importantly, we must consider the young players who are beginning their professional careers and the children who dream of following them. They deserve opportunities to test themselves against the best and a game whose leaders are working together to help them succeed. Let us come together, once and for all, with gratitude for those who support us and a shared commitment to golf’s future. Let us open more doors for younger generations around the world. They are the lifeblood of our game. GP
It’s hard to believe 10 years have passed since we lost Arnold. His love of people and golf remains unmatched. Remember to give as much love as you can as the memories remain forever. GP
There are few things more rewarding than seeing a golf course mature while remaining true to the land that inspired it.
When we designed Goose Valley in the heart of South Africa’s magnificent Garden Route, our goal was to create a course that golfers of every standard could enjoy, while still requiring them to think their way around each hole.
Surrounded by indigenous fynbos and blessed with breathtaking views of the Keurbooms Lagoon, Indian Ocean, Tsitsikamma Mountains and Robberg Peninsula, Goose Valley represents everything that makes golf in South Africa so special—natural beauty, strategic challenge and harmony with the environment.
I am immensely proud to have my name associated with this wonderful course in my beloved country. GP
Keep the hands on the inside but make sure the club head remains outside the hands on the backswing. Ben Hogan taught me this over 60 years ago and I didnt realise what it would do for my game until well after my professional career. I hope it helps your game. GP

If you want to improve your game, a strong short game is imperative. Having confidence around the greens will improve your scoring. Having a strong base and keep your weight on your lead foot are important basics to get right. Spend more time chipping and putting and see how it impacts your game. GP

To be recognised for 50 years as a PGA of America Golf Professional is a tremendous honour and a milestone for which I am deeply grateful.
Golf has given me far more than I could ever repay. It has been the privilege of my lifetime to serve this wonderful game, share its values and help inspire future generations of golfers.
I am immensely proud of my association with the PGA of America and sincerely appreciate this meaningful recognition. Here’s to many more years of growing and celebrating the game we all love.
With gratitude, GP

Many congratulations to Scottie Scheffler on winning the TOUR Championship and capturing his second FedExCup title! What a special season from a truly exceptional champion. No doubt the best golfer in the world today. Scottie’s discipline, determination and humility are a wonderful example for every young golfer. The game is in very good hands. GP
I have learnt to understand that golf is about minimizing your misses. On the tee, I aim up the right and I do everything to hit a draw. It gives me confidence knowing that I then have the entirety of the fairway to play with. If I hit a small draw, I end up on the right side of the fairway. If I hit a big draw, I end up on the left side of the fairway. If you aim up the middle, you double your room for error. Lesson is to learn the way you shape the ball and then make it work for you.

Excited to be heading back down to @AfricasMajor in December on the @Sunshine_Tour at @SunCityResortSA
See you all then 🇿🇦 👋🏼
Nearly 50 years since I first stood looking out on the bushveld that would become Sun City. Some exciting changes ahead for the Gary Player Country Club and Nedbank Golf Challenge. GP
When your ball is sitting on a tight lie close to the green and there is nothing between you and the hole, don’t make the game more difficult than it needs to be. Forget the fancy chip, take your putter and keep the ball on the ground. I believe a bad putt is more often better than a good chip. GP

I am absolutely delighted that Bryson will compete in this year’s Nedbank Golf Challenge. The South African crowds loved watching him play earlier this year, and it is wonderful to welcome him back to our incredible country. Bryson's passion, power and commitment to the game continue to inspire fans around the world. Bryson is a true global champion of golf. I know he will receive a very special welcome at Sun City, and I look forward to seeing how the new and improved Gary Player Country Club challenges his game. GP
