For many countries in Europe that recall living under Soviet occupation, the specter of the Russian threat is never far from mind.
Many of those states are now part of NATO, the alliance built to repel that threat. That includes Latvia, which borders Russia.

The pipe organ is typically associated with formal concert halls, church music and traditional works by Baroque composers like Bach.
But one musician, Anna Lapwood, is broadening the instrument’s reputation and has gotten millions of people to tune in.

While most college freshmen spend their year shopping around courses and picking their majors, Theo Baker (@tab_delete) had a bit more on his plate.
As a reporter for the Stanford Daily, Theo’s investigation into research misconduct brought about the resignation of Stanford President Marc Tessier-Lavigne.
Baker chronicles that investigation and a secretive culture of access, money and Big Tech influence on campus in his new book, “How to Rule the World: An Education in Power at Stanford University.”
@IAmAmnaNawaz spoke with him about the book recently.

It’s been a mainstay of industrial agriculture in the U.S. and around the globe. But thousands of lawsuits allege that one of its key ingredients may be linked to cancer.

I edited this story. Check it out.
This year, Easter and Passover coincided not only with each other, but with the war in Iran.
That led to subdued holidays in Israel. Gatherings were restricted in size, and access to Jerusalem was severely limited.
