Eternally grateful to @markspikestent for giving up some time yesterday to chat about mixing, music production and the recent release of the book on distortion in music. Our initial interview provided the inspiration and subtitle for the book, the Soul of Sonics.
Great to see Flood yesterday and give him a copy of the book on distortion in music production. A big thanks to both he and Alan Moulder for their excellent insights which contributed to my own chapter on understanding the semantics of distortion.
‘It would be lovely to talk about a subject that is very close to my heart/ears/soul. I think it would be great for Alan and I to do it together as we have different methods, but similar taste/perception/application of one of the most misunderstood tools in the sonic palette...
