Poppi goes first because one of the strategics isn't willing to wait. Olipop team holds out and wins the valuation/exit number game. And I think wins the volume game long term.

Introducing Tenet, our first model post-trained for legal. Tenet is a Kimi K3 base that we post-trained with @FireworksAI_HQ on a corpus of publicly available legal data, synthetic data, and human expert data simulating long-horizon legal work. Training increases Tenet's all-pass rate by 82% on LAB and 22% on LAB Contracts relative to the Kimi K3 base model. It achieves state-of-the-art performance on LAB Contracts and places second on LAB. These gains generalize to other leading agentic benchmarks including @mercor's Apex Agents - Corporate Law, @crosbylegal's Redline Bench, and @scale_AI's Professional Reasoning Bench. Tenet is also optimized for token efficiency, operating at less than a fourth the cost of leading foundation models. We additionally post-trained three specialist models for Tenet to use as subagents: 1) M&A Diligence: post-trained with @baseten on our LAB Diligence environment in an RLM harness, this model is optimized for high-scale, long-horizon tasks. 2) Review Tables: trained with @appliedcompute on our Review Table environment, this model is state-of-the-art and cost-effective at high-volume document review and structured data extraction. 3) Firm Knowledge: trained with @EngramLab on our synthetic law firm environment, this model is optimized to learn and search over a firm's knowledge via memory and structured notes. More details on model training, environment design, benchmarking, results, and more in the article by @gabepereyra below. What's next for Harvey’s research? - Scaling LAB to more jurisdictions, practice areas and workflows - Scaling compute to bring new generalist models and capabilities to Harvey More to come soon.

GasTown inside of @kilocode is a pretty amazing little glimpse of the future. So unhinged and opinionated, it's legit fun, and what you can do with the "Auto Free" mode should scare the pants off @anthropic

Wow. Airtable, founded in 2012 and once valued at $11.7B, is getting acquired by Bending Spoons, founded 2013, at 2.7x ARR. A once hot startup; now an unfortunate victim of the SaaS bust. It raised $1.4B only to be sold for $1.285B EV ($2.25B equity value), just clearing its preference stack. That implies common and early holders split the remaining ~$850M, a ~10x haircut from peak.
We've officially agreed to acquire Airtable for $1.285B! 😍

Some good best practices here on AI token cost optimization. None of these happens though without a deep understanding of the underlying work being done in a non-abstract way. The ultimate implication is that a layer between the work itself and the underlying intelligence needs to deeply understand your workflows, context, and business process. Now, each individual company doing this on their own is unlikely to be effective at scale, so as a consequence, this is effectively the playbook for any applied AI company right now. By evaling the models for the applied use cases, deeply understanding the domain, having tuned UX and features for the use case, and having the ability to support adoption and change (via FDEs), allow this layer to add a ton of value. And as a result, enterprises get higher ROI because you actually can get *more* intelligence per dollar by having optimal architecture and workflows. There will be many horizontal and vertical versions of this approach. Huge opportunity right now.

The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

This is a very important document. I think we will use this moment to mark a cyclical bottom in software valuations
BREAKING: Thoma Bravo just released their LP meeting slides. The world's largest software PE firm thinks the market has it completely wrong on software right now. Public markets are panic-selling software based on AI fear. Here's what they're seeing:

The trust paradox of AI in finance explained really succinctly: “Finance is the sector where being right is worth the most money. The marginal value of an accurate answer in an M&A process or in a distressed debt situation, is enormous. The cost of an inaccurate answer is also enormous. There is no other professional domain where the reward for getting things exactly right, and the penalty for getting things almost right but slightly wrong, is so consistently, measurably high. And that means that finance will consume AI capabilities faster than any other vertical. Not because finance professionals are early adopters or technology enthusiasts, but because the economics of precision are simply so extreme. When the expected value of a correct answer is ten million dollars and the expected cost of a wrong answer is also ten million dollars, financial institutions will pay almost anything for a system that they can actually trust.”

Biologica, a new hormonal health company, officially launched today with $7M in seed funding. Investors include Addition, Hawktail, Greycroft, True Beauty Ventures, Good Friends, as well as Gabrielle Bernstein and Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt. Biologica was co-founded by Liz Zwillinger, a former family law attorney, and Joey Zwillinger, the co-founder of Allbirds. The company was created around one simple truth: hormones drive women’s overall health, yet supplements and the broader women’s wellness category tend to ignore this.
