Looking at the Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines- and forgive me for being a little undiplomatic - but there’s a Tagalog expression that comes to mind: “Pinaglihi sa sama ng loob.” I know. It’s a rather harsh way of describing someone who seems to radiate bitterness, spite, and ill will. Unfortunately, the way he conducts himself seems to reinforce that impression. @Chinaembmanila

🚨 OMG Sen. Erwin Tulfo filed a resolution expressing concern over Chinese Ambassador Jing Quan’s statements threatening the use of force.
He urged the DFA to declare Jing Quan as persona non grata.

UPDATE: The Chinese Embassy in Manila warned that Philippine lawmakers seeking to declare Chinese Ambassador Jing Quan persona non grata will not be welcome in China.
In a social media post on Sunday, Oct. 18, the embassy accused what it called “anti-China politicians” of repeatedly threatening its diplomatic mission over the past three decades.
“We are fed up with these old and low tricks,” the embassy said.
Invoking the diplomatic principle of reciprocity, the embassy added: “We will not welcome them to China.”
