ALT This figure shows the number of SWORD reaches per continent (not including ghost reaches). Colors display the number of SWOT passes per reach during the 21 day orbit cycle with light blue representing 0, dark blue representing 1, purple =2, red is 3-4 , orange 5-6 and yellow is 7+. We are pleased to share our recent study on: Summer Monsoon Drying Accelerates India's Groundwater Depletion Under Climate Change that has appeared in Earth’s Future (@theAGU)! We show that climate warming combined with weaker summer monsoon can accelerate groundwater depletion!
AGU abstracts are due in a week! Please consider joining us and our invited speakers for a great session on RS of Rivers, Lakes, Reservoirs and Wetlands!

This is a collaborative work with coauthors from @DRIScience @twdb @LCRA @USACE_FortWorth @usbr @tamu @TAMUCVEN
This busy week began with an exceptional seminar on the "Processes of River Flood Generation" by Dr. Gunter Bloschl. Our group had the privilege to meet and engage in a fruitful and impactful discussion with two giants in hydrology, Dr. Soroosh Sorooshian and Dr. Gunter Bloschl.
📢📢 Publication Alert!!!📢📢
Pleased to share that our article on "Transitioning from #MODIS to #VIIRS Global Water #Resevoir Product", led by @shahdeep21, has appeared online today in @ScientificData.
More details can be found at: nature.com/articles/s41597-0…
Since MODIS will be decomissioned soon, we introduce VIIRS GWR and establish its continuity with MODIS GWR. This way VIIRS can carry forward the legacy of MODIS in remote sensing or lakes and reservoirs!!
