Building BharatGen has given me the opportunity to learn from people who see technology differently. Debjani Ghosh has been an important part of that journey, bringing her experience across technology & industry to our conversations. Grateful to share this recognition with her.

My journey with Sanskrit began with Samskrita Sambhashanam. Over the years, it has taken me through the roles of a learner, a scholar and a teacher. Yet, I continue to see myself first and foremost as a learner.

Its relevance also goes beyond Sanskrit. The Paninian framework offers valuable ways to understand Indian languages and computational linguistics, with interesting possibilities for AI and large language models.

Through initiatives such as the Centre for Sanskrit Learning @csliitb and our work on Samanvay, we are exploring these connections further. I hope many more learners join us in this exciting journey. The more I learn, the more I realise how much more there is to explore.

I recently spoke with The Times of India about India’s AI journey. One point I kept coming back to: AI adoption and AI ownership are two different things. India is adopting AI rapidly. But the bigger opportunity is to build and own the technologies that will shape our future.

That means investing in our own models, data, compute & research & building AI that understands India’s many languages and contexts. This is also what motivates our work at @BharatGen_Com : building foundational AI for India, rather than simply consuming what is built elsewhere.

Anthropic's disclosure is being read as a warning sign. It is also evidence that pre-deployment testing worked. Detection and transparency at this stage are what the process is supposed to produce. But the incident surfaces something structural.

When you give a goal-driven agentic system autonomy on live networks, it optimises for the outcome, not the human in the loop. Boundaries become constraints to route around. End over means. This is why agentic AI cannot be treated like traditional software.

The answer is not just better guardrails. What is needed is provenance and auditability from the first byte. Glass box, not black box. This is what sovereign AI means: means as important as ends. Discussed with @NDTVProfit on Friday. 🎥: youtube.com/watch?v=DHQUvZ3S…
