I’m not sure why some Pirates fans have said this has been an enjoyable season.
It had so much promise but they had an atrocious bullpen half the season that blew so many winnable games, they have a manager that is way over his head, and a super star pitcher that had a horrible season.
This season was the year to win and they failed. It’s been brutal to watch this all summer to be honest. They should have 80 + wins right now sitting comfortably in a wildcard spot but yet they have no chance and have a losing record instead.

Sidney Crosby doesn’t sound like a guy preparing to leave Pittsburgh. 🐧
Crosby is entering the final year of his contract, but another deal with the Penguins is still very much on the table.
According to Josh Yohe of The Athletic, Crosby’s agent Pat Brisson said the two haven’t discussed the next contract yet, but there’s an understanding they’ll do that before the summer ends.
At 39, Crosby has already made it clear retirement isn’t something he’s thinking about right now.
After more than two decades with the same franchise, all signs still point to Sid wanting to keep this going in Pittsburgh.
No. 87 isn’t done yet.
