I memba Dario was called a snake oil salesman for this claim. Generally, the people who claimed the AI labs were just doing marketing with their warnings have not really admitted their fault
AI combining Mario 64 and Elden Ring has woke my friends up to AI progress like 100x more than the Navier Stokes solution and the HuggingFace incident combined

FWIW I think their timeline did overindex on the “agent” framing. The public does seems to see a clear delineation between models and harnesses, they are indeed very distinct.
I don’t see this as a failure of the @AI_Futures_ project, just more how unpredictable these things are

Last night was a Mad Men episode bro. Our interpersonal relationships advanced in carefully plotted ways that were relevant to generational themes and captured the zeitgeist of our country.
The safety data for Waymo gets better and better.
Comparison w/ human drivers on rate of crashes with serious injury:
Latest data: 270M miles, 20X better
Mar 2026: 170M miles, 13X better
Before that (forget exactly when): 10X better
270M+ miles. 841 fewer injury-causing crashes.
Our latest safety data shows the Waymo Driver continues to make roads safer for everyone.
Compared to human drivers across 5 territories, it reduced:
📉 Injury crashes by 82%
📉 Serious injury crashes by 95%

Northernlion mogs all the competition
'Asmongold' Claims 'Northernlion' is a PATHETIC LOSER for "INCITING his Audience to HARASS" long time friend 'Dan Gheesling' for SUPPORTING 'US' military .
"You had to WAIT for the CONSENSUS to be drawn in your own COMMUNITY so you didn't Accidentally come out on the WRONG Side of this."
"You think he got C#CKED out by his WIFE?"
"He's actually bro, this is so pathetic, oh my god.""What a f#cking loser."
"Most Canadians love America, the ones I know, of course, Canada is our biggest trading partner."

With the advancements of vibe coding, we’re gonna see GTA 6 on someone’s phone within a week or two of the game’s release
it’s really funny that a lot of our revealed preferences for spending tokens are “modding video games we’re nostalgic for”
At some point, we all kind of realized AGI/ASI is just RL’ing more and more knowledge into the models.
There wasn’t even like a sudden moment of breakthrough, just a subtle realization. Very few people have realized this.

You don't get it, it's a pure PR play. Sure the labs are super unpopular but the PR isn't for you. Sure even investors dislike the doomers but it's not for them either. Okay the administration hates them too but it's not for them either. It's for a fourth, more mysterious thing.
🚨 BREAKING — Anthropic investors worry Dario Amodei’s AI doom marketing could hurt its upcoming IPO.
“He’s more of a religious leader than he is a CEO.”
> used to write sensitive OpenAI memos on an offline computer
> printed them out instead of using Google Docs
> refused to visit China since he feared being kidnapped
> investors say he refuses to listen outsiders
> one investor noted before investing that Dario didn’t seem to care about making money
> some investors want him to “stop scaring everyone” ahead of the IPO
This cannot be healthy.

Nothing will make you madder than holier than thou film criticism from an "expert" not in cinema. These people view the actual apparatus of film as an impediment to a magic totality of "story" that a director is merely getting in the way of

An economist and a futurist walk into a bar.
The economist takes a sip of his drink. "Ugh, if only people understood basic economics. High-skilled immigration alone would do wonders for US growth."
Futurist: "Oh yeah? Say 100 million immigrants moved to the US, each matching the best human experts in every economically relevant field. Big deal?"
Economist: "Massive. Transformative."
Futurist: "What if they also worked longer hours and faster than any American?"
Economist: "Even better."
Futurist: "What if they were extremely frugal — consuming only the bare minimum needed to keep working?"
Economist: "A near-100% savings rate? Better still!"
Futurist: "What if they were very clumsy and physically weak, so they could only do some kinds of work?"
Economist: "They could still do all cognitive labor — that's over half all wages! Somewhat less good, sure. Still transformative."
Futurist: "What if their skin was grey, almost metallic, from some kind of accident?"
Economist: "Who cares?!"
Futurist: "What if they were AIs?"
Economist: "3% growth per year, tops. There'd be bottlenecks. Honestly, the people predicting explosive growth from AI should learn some economics."
My copium conspiracy theory regarding the weird Fable usage limits is that they have a Fable 5.1 coming up that has some tweaked bio safeguards, derived from the first period Fable was up.
This may also be the reason the unblocking was so long, Fable 5.1 was also in the pipeline.
If GPT-5.6 is released before Fable is re-released, are they going to compare the benchmarks to Opus or Fable?
Did you even go to LessOnline if you didn't blog about it? My experience going, and getting to meet @gwern, @Aella_Girl, and @slatestarcodex ! Link below!
