We just lost another music legend today ๐
The unmistakable voice and co-founder of Naked Eyes has passed away at 74 after a brief illness.
Alongside Rob Fisher, Byrne helped define early-โ80s synth-pop with their shimmering reinvention of โAlways Something There to Remind Me,โ which reached No. 8 in the U.S., followed by โPromises, Promises,โ โWhen the Lights Go Outโ and โ(What) In the Name of Love.โ
After Fisher passed away in 1999, Byrne kept the Naked Eyes legacy alive through new music and decades of performances, carrying those songs to generations who discovered the โ80s long after the decade ended.
The synthesizers may belong to another era, but Pete Byrneโs voice made sure the memories never did.
Rest in peace. ๐๏ธโค๏ธ
