In the little more than two years since Arkansas’s near-total ban on abortion access took effect, UAMS has seen OB-GYN residency applications drop by almost a third—from 390 for the 2022-23 academic year to 263 for the 2024-25 academic year. arkansasbusiness.com/article…

Can’t imagine how anybody who’s suffered heartbreak after heartbreak trying to have children must feel hearing our governor suggest not having kids makes them somehow less anything than anybody else. Some people have kids, some don’t, and none of it’s any of our business.
Disgusting comments from Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders tonight. Women who choose not to have children are not less than women who choose to. Republicans just can't help themselves from having weird attitudes about women...

For those who'd planned to drop by this morning's Constituent Coffee, turns out Jammin Java's closed—so I went right down Mountain to the Arsaga's at the Fayetteville Public Library. I'll be here till 10:00a. I apologize for the last-minute venue switch.

Trying to work out how Arkansas’s 2021 “conscience” law (Act 289) fits with our 2019 “trigger” law (Act 180). Act 180 bans abortion except when the patient’s life is “endangered.” Act 289 lets doctors refuse to treat a patient if doing so conflicts with their conscience. (1/2)

#Arkansas is the only state in the US that fails to recognize tenants’ rights to safe, habitable housing. Add your name in support of meaningful reforms to our state’s worst-in-the-nation landlord-tenant laws. gre.gl/renters-rights

Packed @shannonrwatts’s #FightLikeAMother for the flight this morning and was thrilled to come across this paragraph (and the bits about @evesuzanne and @gelderbailey, too). Proud to serve alongside Denise (@DeniseforAR) in the legislature.

Temporarily leaving fees where they are for incumbents could allow for deeper cuts for other candidates and help with a planned transition to lower fees across the board. Ideally (and ultimately), all fees should be minimal. #ArkDems #ARpx (4/5)

A few more thoughts: • Filing fees shouldn’t be thought of as fundraising • Reducing fees isn’t taking money from the party; it’s allowing candidates to keep resources • No one expects drastic change • People who care about the party need to contribute to the party (9/x)

I still struggle to understand how my hometown of Springdale allows Sunday sales of alcohol while Fayetteville doesn’t.

The last time this Senate seat saw a race, the Democratic candidate won by just 44 votes. 😧 Let’s make sure we keep strong leadership in Senate District 4. Chip in a few bucks now. gre.gl/be-a-part-of-this – at Arkansas, USA

Welcome to the fray, Andrew. If you support @andrewcollinsAR and his bid for the Arkansas House, you might ask if he needs help raising the $3,000 he'll need to pay the Democratic Party of Arkansas in order to run. xitter.cf/ArkDems/status/9613435…
We're excited for the candidacy of Andrew Collins in HD 35! Deciding to run for something is no easy task, and we're proud of all of the Arkansas Democrats stepping up to #PaintArkansasBlue in 2018! #arpx arktimes.com/ArkansasBlog/ar…
