instead of teaching the robot separate physics for a box, rope and cloth, track what every point will do.
> “PointCast: One World Model for Rigid, Articulated, and Deformable Object Manipulation”
> represents objects as tracked 3D points.
> predicts where those points move after the robot acts.
> same basic representation for:
boxes, cabinets, cloth, and rope.
> those predicted future shapes can then guide model-predictive control.
> one important nuance:
same architecture, but separate checkpoints for each physics regime.

I’ve had this barely used RF Explorer Pro mounted in my vehicle for about a week now. I picked it up on eBay for about ~50% of the MSRP of a new unit😃:

【Chinese Supplier Capacity Releases Keep NAND Spot Supply Ample; 512Gb TLC Wafer Prices Fall 1%】
Restricted by persistently weak consumer end-demand and capacity releases from Chinese suppliers, overall NAND supply in the spot market remains relatively sufficient, with prices mostly consolidating within a narrow range. Although some module houses and sellers have loosened their quotes and increased price flexibility to sustain shipment momentum, buyers remain conservative on the consumer market outlook. Aware that the current upward price momentum stems entirely from strong enterprise SSD demand, buyers have largely adopted a wait-and-see approach and are reluctant to follow up on prices aggressively. As a result, actual purchasing momentum remains insufficient, and overall transaction volumes stay light. Spot prices of 512Gb TLC wafers dropped by 1.00% this week (September 21), arriving at US$19.883.

For me the biggest takeaway from #IMTS2026, was the staggering improvement in technology from 2 years ago. Humanoid robots, full production lines on the floor of AI flying drones. Additive manufacturing not hidden off by itself. Laser technology. @IMTSchicago
#IMTS2026 is coming to a close, but yesterday was still packed with people, printing, and processes. In every hall, visitors were learning something new, closing a purchase, or making a lifelong memory.
What has been the biggest takeaway from the show this year? Check back in this evening for the final post from the floor.
