I truly hope that we will emerge from all of this with a deep appreciation for what child care enables. Thing is without support many child care programs will go out of business. Ask Congress to include #childcare industry in the #covid19 econ stimulus package!
The strain being placed on child care providers, who are already operating on razor thin margins, could force many out of business permanently. Ask Congress to include crucial support for the #childcare industry in the #COVID19 economic stimulus package. ffyf.org/why-it-matters/poli…

New survey from @NAEYC: ~1 in 3 child care providers say "they would not survive a closure of more than two weeks without significant public investment and support". Unlike K-12, child care is not guaranteed to re-open unless we provide support now. tinyurl.com/s4o5zwf

The #childcare system is largely private, made up of individual small business owners. Financing is also largely private-families pay. Without gov't support, the childcare industry, already a crisis in the US, is at high risk. We'll be watching the stimulus packages closely. #ece

#Childcare centers remain open across MI...the sobering reason: The state is weighing the risk of young children being infected against the need for medical professionals & first-responders - so desperately needed - to have somewhere to drop off their kids.bridgemi.com/michigan-health…

One of the hardest questions facing #childcare providers - many of whom already operate on slender margins financially - is this: If they close and parents stop paying tuition, will they ever reopen? Our response to this crisis must secure child care. adn.com/alaska-news/2020/03/…
