If you really want smokers to understand vaping is less risky, post a graph And not some not quantified concept like "given the harmful chemicals found in e-cigarettes"

Snagged/updated this from @PeggySPuppy ... Everyone should now assume tobacco deaths are derived from and caused by "experts", "public health", politicians, governments, and non-profit narratives supplying non-information, misinformation and propaganda campaigns against any and all less harmful alternatives like snus, pouches, heat not burn, and nicotine vaping products to the public.

I will remind you that these "professionals" (among others) predicted, with "#data and studies", a "gateway" to smoking by teens, and were WRONG: @truthinitiative, @StevenStackMD, @VitalStrat, @ProfGlantz, @DrFrieden, @AmerAcadPeds, @TobaccoFreeKids, @ParentsvsVape. Now what do you hear? Crickets. What else do they lie about?

Like everything from WHO, that is an idiotic and misleading presentation of vaping. Seven things you ought to know: 1. Worldwide, there are vastly more adults than youth who vape. Your data is profoundly misleading. 2. Many of the young people who take up vaping would otherwise have smoked. So for them, it’s a huge health win. The use of nicotine is migrating to safer products. You ignore this. 3. People will continue to use nicotine whether you approve or not. Once you can find the humility to accept that, the challenge is how to make it acceptably safe and lawful. You don’t understand this basic point. 4. Most of WHO’s prohibitionist policy proposals lead straight to illicit trade and nurture exploitative organised criminal networks. You ignore the evidence: 75% of vape sales worldwide are now illicit. Your big idea is to extend this criminal windfall to pouches. 5. Young people are drawn into criminal networks as suppliers and are exposed to other illegal goods and services, and are introduced to criminality. WHO is the vector of criminalisation and youth exploitation in this marketplace. 6. WHO continues to be captured by narrow interest groups and billionaire foundations, while showing idle contempt for the health of over 1 billion people at serious risk from smoking related disease. You are smug and righteous but wrong about everything. 7. WHO and the people you have copied on your facile misinformation post ought to be ashamed of their role as defenders of the cigarette trade and promoters of organised crime. It’s no wonder the organisation is in terminal decline. You have done this.

Modelling shows 2.9 million tobacco-related deaths in the EU could have been averted between 2000 and 2019 if member states had matched Sweden’s smoking-attributable death rate. The cost of slow alignment is measured in lives:

@SenBlumenthal @SenJeffMerkley Why are you fighting harder against smoke-free nicotine products than against combustible cigarettes, the product that actually kills more than 8 million people globally every single year and over 480,000 Americans annually? 🚬💀🪦 Cigarettes are the deadliest legal consumer product ever sold. Smoking has caused more preventable death than wars, plane crashes, natural disasters, HIV/AIDS, alcohol, illegal drugs, car accidents, and many infectious diseases combined over the past century. Combustible cigarettes cause cancer, heart disease, COPD, stroke, vascular disease, and countless other smoking-related illnesses that destroy families and cut lives short every single day. Yet instead of focusing their energy on eliminating combustible smoking, some lawmakers are demanding the FDA remove smoke-free alternatives that millions of adults use to move away from cigarettes. I guess 480,000 American deaths every year means nothing to them. The product that burns tobacco and creates toxic smoke remains fully available everywhere, while alternatives that do not involve combustion are treated like the greater threat. No responsible person wants youth using nicotine products. But adults who smoke matter too. Their lives matter. Their health matters. Their families matter. When you remove alternatives from the market, many people go back to smoking. That is the reality. Public health policy should focus on reducing death and disease caused by combustible cigarettes, not eliminating lower-risk alternatives that many adults rely on to stay away from smoking.

In 2015 farsalinos told researchers how to make millions: Just cheat on the temperature. We can no longer count the number of studies where researchers have knowingly distorted the data by modifying the settings in order to obtain a dry hit.

Not only they used 18 mg/ml at 63 W, their machine puffed it at an airflow of 1 L/min appropriate for devices operating below 10 W. A human trying to vape this device would have got a mouth burning hot aerosol immediately. Now imagine 400 puffs. But these authors don’t care, all what matters to them is the promotion they get by publishing stuff that fits an agenda to report harms from vaping. They also know that reviewers and editors will easily pass their stuff.
