Entirely possible that there won't be any productivity gains from AI coding because so much more effort will need to go into security.
I read this and I'm terrified, the situation seems intractable.
In the python ecosystem alone every cpython install, venv, UV is at risk.
Don't get my started on npm, pnpm, yarn, go, rust.
My current 2026 security posture: stay home and only connect to the internet from a trusted ISP.
The winter is coming.

Pi is one of the coolest projects in the AI world today. I'm on their team. Giving developers and companies choice of model, control over the runtime, data, skills, plugins… Excited to have great support on @vercel:

drama aside, competition is good! A lot of the ills of software and other industries would be smoothed over for customers if there were more companies trying to solve the same problems

This is an awesome guide @marcos_placona, thank you! I might’ve missed it but what tool are you using to measure DR for your site? And how long is the lag in how it tracks the improvement?

How about a Slack bot? Or that wouldn't work because you need immediate answer back. So like user support agent you can say "connecting you to an agent" while it's spinning up but with a Slack bot/integration you expect an answer ASAP?

this looks really useful @kevinwhinnery, is the most common use case if you are expecting a burst of traffic? or what would be the ideal scenario where you’d know you need that 5 min window ahead of time?

Saying software is dead because everyone can create it with agents is like saying movies are dead because billions of ppl have a high res video camera in their pockets
Movies doing better than ever+more ppl make a living from videos, movies, TV than ever
(Analogy from @simonw)
Saying software is dead because anyone can build it is like saying photography is dead now that everyone in the world has a camera in their pocket
Not only is it not dead it's the beginning of the Kodak Brownie moment for software, and we will see an absolute explosion of it
It will be the first generation for who building software will feel no different than using it. This is crazy!
The quality and bar of what we expect from our everyday apps will be raised dramatically, we'll have personal software, we'll have disposable software, and agents will be the foundation for most of it
Tech has always been chaotic and evolving, the people who have been able to adapt and move in front of new opportunities have always excelled, this is nothing new, I'm seeing it now and we'll see it 10 years from now
Find the opportunities in the chaose and disruption, there are countless of them

They can be, I'm not dismissing all of them! Especially if they are hands-on with the tools so they have actual experience. But if they've taken a bunch of money from different companies they often say increasingly unlikely stuff that is detached from reality to get clicks

haha yup. influencer takes on X like “MCP is dead” are clearly clickbait, not based on data or actually having a sense of what is happening outside their vibes bubble. clear from the data that companies continue to invest and see return from MCP: plushcap.com/trends/monthly/…

If you're building (or rebuilding) a developer onboarding experience in 2026, make it what I call "grab-and-go friendly."
Make two things ridiculously easy to find:
1. An API key
2. A prompt I can hand to my coding agent
That's it.

“ Tap in” requires actually clicking on it or is it enough to just pause and read?
