Almost all Ruby developers I know use the Hash#merge method to append one Hash to another.
What if I told you, you could do this using the double splat operator(+coolness factor) and it is sightly faster? 💨

TIL you can grep directly from "rails routes"! And now you can match against the path, too. Sure beats piping into grep.

One of my favourite features of modern Ruby is the `...` syntax for delegation or argument forwarding. It's elegant and saves some keystrokes.

Ruby API has had over 100K page views in the past 30 days! 🤯 I never thought Ruby API would be helpful to other people outside my weird brain. Thank you!

This is really exciting. I love programming in Ruby, and I think that this will help improve the ecosystem for everyone so that hopefully others can share my enjoyment in to the future ❤️

One of the most obvious "Ruby is weird" things you'll learn is that:
value = a + b
could mean "add local variables a and b together"
or
"add the return values of methods a and b together"
That methods can look like local vars may be surprising, but it's really awesome. 🤓

When I’m in my “flow state”, what I’m constantly doing is finding ways to eliminate redundancies, learning to recognize that entire subsystems as a whole can be made entirely redundant if I simply took the time to search for higher-level abstractions.

Want to see what changes are needed to remove webpacker? Here is a PR that shows the diff created by removing webpacker from a Rails 6 app - github.com/ryanwi/rails-on-d…
RETIREMENT: Webpacker has served the Rails community for over five years as a bridge to compiled and bundled JavaScript. This bridge is no longer needed for most people in most situations following the release of Rails 7.

➡️ First post of the new year! 🎉
Use Ruby to transform incoming data and generate reusable markup, and use web components to encapsulate frontend styling and behavior. Build discrete building blocks of UI while collapsing mental models. Chef’s kiss!
