Been lots of questions, the latest:
Following Trump’s executive order on dyed diesel, IRS has announced it will waive federal penalties for highway use through December 31.
But there’s an important distinction: The 24.4¢/gallon federal diesel tax has NOT been waived or forgiven.
Who ultimately pays the bill?

We thank @EPA and @POTUS for proposing reallocation of the RFS volumes recently waived via small refinery exemptions. While we believe most of these exemptions were unjustified, this reallocation plan will help offset demand loss for ethanol producers and farmers. We urge swift finalization so we have the certainty we need heading into 2027.

Yesterday, I was fortunate enough to take two @thekcdiamonds players to a local school to discuss agriculture, ethanol & professional softball. Thx to Cori & Kylie for taking time out of their busy schedules to motivate these students a bit. They also now know their parent's vehicles burn a little corn too. @EthanolRFA

From now until 8am tomorrow, get E85 for $1.85/gallon cash at 1606 Market Street in San Diego!
E15 is coming soon to California with the full support of @AirResources & @CAgovernor! This is no longer an IF, it will be soon. #ethanol
Yesterday CARB adopted amendments to CA gasoline regulations, supporting the use of #E15 fuel. This move allows for more consumer fuel choices while maintaining public health protections.

The foreground centers a hand squeezing the lever of a gas pump handle, with nozzle inserted into the car's fuel filler neck. Vehicle owner is tightly cropped out the photo, showing only the arm, chest and just below the shoulder line. For a limited time: E85 for $1.999/gallon (cash price) at 4501 Geary Boulevard in San Francisco! Download the Pearson Fuels app for more stations and prices.
From California: “As Donald Trump’s costly and reckless Iran war continues to disrupt global oil markets and drive up costs for families at the pump, California is taking action to give consumers more affordable choices and strengthen our fuel supply,” @CAgovernor Governor Newsom said. “This common-sense bill cuts unnecessary red tape while maintaining our environmental and safety standards. We’re helping make E15 a real option for California drivers.” #ethanol

Great news! RFA testified today and then @AirResources this evening unanimously approved regulations to further the implementation of lower-cost #E15 for California drivers.

Unused/surplus production capacity in oil refining sector = 0
Unused/surplus production capacity in ethanol sector = 120,000 bpd
If govt. would allow slightly higher ethanol blends in existing equipment, we could very quickly deliver an additional volume of fuel equal to gasoline output of a large, brand new oil refinery (~260,000 bpd refinery).
Allows refiners to focus on diesel yields
-reduces RIN prices
-takes pressure off high-$ aromatics production
-boosts corn/sorghum demand for farmers

We don’t always agree with @ScottIrwinUI, but he is spot on here: Even modest expansion in US ethanol blending (to beyond 11%) would help further reduce prices for both gasoline and diesel and bring down the RIN prices that refiners seem to care so much about.
Here’s your weekly check-in. Still waiting for those “lower gas and diesel prices” and “capacity expansions” that were promised by refiners getting SREs! (also still waiting for reallocation proposal from EPA)…
In case you missed it, it was a big weekend for E15 and California! #ethanol
