For reference, Apple’s Dynamic Island employs subpixel level rendering optimized for the iPhone's RGB subpixel structure, resulting in cleaner cutouts and smoother, more precise animations. This cannot be observed through screen recordings, instead, it becomes clearly visible under microscopic photography. The “Display Engine,” briefly mentioned by Apple during the introduction of the A16 chip, is the circuitry responsible for performing this task without burdening the CPU or GPU If you thought Apple’s Dynamic Island looked somehow better than Android’s imitations when viewed with the naked eye, this feature may have played a role Source: ColorScale
