A seemingly modern moment of abstraction in a medieval manuscript, representing silence as a yellow rectangle: publicdomainreview.org/colle…
“And when he opened the 7th seal, there followed a silence in heaven about the space of half an hour”

That’s a great quote! I’m going to use that to explain the exuberant use of color in my art.

I love this teachers attitude. And the student’s work shines because of it. There’s plenty of time to fix it later, but it has to exist in the first place in order to then be fixed.

This will always be one of my favorite things. A teacher told me, "I gave one of my 2nd grade (dyslexic) students your nature poetry prompt. He's reluctant to write because of challenges, but I suspect he’s gifted. I told him just to write and we’d sort out the spelling later. This is what he wrote."
This is a great resource of design history & inspiration. You may check in to check it out and never find your way out. You have been warned. 😀

Some of the illustrations in this style had a kinda generic look to their figures. But I did like the a lot of patterning and color palates used. Methinks it still influences my work today.
Pause and enjoy this piece of classical guitar playing by a virtuoso performer.

recently I saw an art exhibition that truly made me both laugh and cry: a retrospective of a painter I had never heard of before, Mexican surrealist Alfredo Castañeda (1938-2010). Every painting felt like an "instant classic," as if it had always been part of the canon

Some beauty to adorn your day. May this be a restful respite from all the troubles that surround you. Repeat as needed.
This piece sounds much better being played by a quintet than how we usually hear it with a full orchestra. This is definitely how it was meant to be.

ℹ️ One of the most emblematic works in classical music: Mozart’s Serenade in G major (K. 525), better known as Eine kleine Nachtmusik.
🔹Composed in the summer of 1787, at the height of Mozart’s success.
🔹Originally written for two violins, viola, cello, and double bass—though today it’s often heard in orchestral form.
Happy birthday my friend.
This is where it all began ⚓️
