Iran has done more damage to US military bases in the Middle East than commonly understood. A @WSJ examination finds 274 structures at 24 installations in seven countries were damaged during the first six months of the war. wsj.com/world/middle-east/ir…

How the hell did this Administration allow a 28-year-old DOGE operative with zero government experience to take over USAID, fire thousands of federal employees, and shut down lifesaving aid programs around the world?   Not to mention that HR had zero record of him working there, he never completed his background paperwork to legally start working for the agency, and he didn’t even have an ID badge, because, officially, he didn’t exist as an employee.   And yet, all on his own, this man was given the go ahead to lock staff out of their own systems and use your taxpayer dollars to gut lifesaving programs with zero transparency.   The Trump Administration owes the American people and Congress answers. Who signed off on this? Why on earth was he given this kind of power?   This wasn’t an accident. Someone handed this man unchecked power, someone knew he wasn’t legally authorized to use it, and someone decided that there was nothing wrong with that.   Well, everything is wrong with that. Congress needs answers about this, and that is NOT optional. wired.com/story/a-28-year-ol…

It’s interesting that Trump is especially interested in rigging the election in Alaska. At exactly the moment when he is trying to give Alaska’s natural resources to Russia. nytimes.com/2026/10/27/us/al…

Jason Miller is the White House employee who arranged a green card and visa for former Brazilian Presidential candidate Flavio Bolsonaro, with whom he works politically. Bolsonaro's father is in jail for trying to overthrow the Brazilian government. Miller is also refusing to make MANDATORY financial disclosures to a Florida court in the nine-year-old paternity case over the son he fathered with former Trump 2016 campaign senior advisor @AJDelgado13 when he was the Communications Director. Delgado won a confidential settlement from the Trump 2016 campaign for Miller's conduct toward her. But the former Trump 2016 Comms Director is only paying $38,000 annually in interim child support while his wife's daughter of the same age attends a $48,000 per year private school. Both children have special needs. Not coincidentally, those disclosures Miller is withholding would have to say how much he earned from Brazil. Earlier this year, Miller was on a $1.8 million contract to be a registered foreign agent of India. This is the same Jason Miller who was Donald Trump's senior political advisor in the 2024 campaign. He's making a boatload of cash, not filing disclosures anywhere, while working in the White House and possibly acting as a foreign agent. And Jason Miller also skipped out on a deposition in the case, in what I can only describe as a blatant attempt to forestall a final trial hearing in the nine-year-old case where he's been spending at least $300,000 a year in attorneys' fees to fight Delgado. This is who is in the Trump White House today. America First MAGA voters complained about open borders and criminals coming in from abroad, while Trump's team is working for the alleged criminals to give them golden tickets to come to America.

My uncle spent 40 years as a high school teacher. Saved $250k in a modest nest egg. At 78, he developed dementia and needed memory care. The facility cost $8,500 a month. When his savings ran out after two and a half years, the social worker handed my cousin a stack of paperwork. She explained the rule: "Medicaid won't cover a single day until he has less than $2,000 in total liquid assets." He had to sell his car, cash out his remaining life insurance, and empty his checking account just to qualify for basic care. Forty years of discipline, erased down to two thousand dollars so he could die in a shared room. They don't let working class families leave a legacy. They make sure you die with zero before they hand you a safety net.

Rest in peace, Sir Patrick Stewart, who passed away today at the age of 86. Perhaps best known for his iconic role as Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Stewart spent the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown sharing videos of himself reading Shakespeare’s sonnets. Notably, he was once joined by his neighbor’s cat Glenn who appeared unimpressed by Sonnet 40. #cat #catlovers #RIP

“In late spring 2020, a source I knew to be reliable called me with a story,” writes Matthew Cole. “The Dutch government had hacked into Jared Kushner’s phone and monitored him as he accessed a Dubai-based bank account. What was odd, the source said, was that the money in the account—hundreds of millions of dollars—had come from a bank in Azerbaijan. Most importantly, Kushner appeared to have transferred significant amounts of money from the Dubai account to other individuals, including a warlord, a mercenary and a one-time hit man. The story sounded preposterous, I told my source. And yet. Six months later, I found myself speaking with someone else about the UAE government and their use of mercenaries in conflicts around the Middle East and Africa when I asked, on a whim, whether they knew anything about Kushner and bank transfers from a UAE account. My acquaintance grew quiet. Then they replied, ‘Yes.’” Kushner’s lawyer denied the bank account existed. This is happening all over the country, specifically in Lula supporting areas. Right-wing officials have turned off traffic lights, reduced bus and ferry services on voting day. Fights to the northeast, where turnout for Lula was crucial, have been suddenly canceled.
São Gonçalo, Rio. Bus service intentionally limited to impede Lula vote.

Imagine being a CEO of an US energy company and thinking that you work with close associates of the Trump family, only to find out that behind them is a sanctioned Russian company, really pulling the strings. This happened in Alaska. Polar Train LNG's CEO, Joel Riddle, stepped down after finding out that the Russian "Novatek" company, which is under US sanctions, has been involved in a $25 billion energy project in Alaska. The CEO thought that he was working with Gentry Beach, a close friend of Donald Trump Junior. Reportedly, that project was also discussed between Witkoff and Jared Kushner when they were with Putin. The White House admitted that the project was talked about "briefly". We are witnessing the greatest corruption scandal the USA has ever witnessed. It all leads to Trump, his family and the Russians, and apparently they were even ready to sell riches of Alaska to the Russians. The people in Alaska just need to look over to Russia, where the richest regions in terms of minerals and hydrocarbon resources have been stripped-mined, transferring all the wealth to Moscow and Saint Petersburg and leaving a scarred landscape in extreme poverty. That is the result of rampant corruption. We are starting to see more details why Trump and his friends are trying so strongly to bully Ukraine into surrender. This is most certainly only the tip of the iceberg.

Maria Corina Machado's return to Venezuela is symbolically significant, not least because she was repeatedly blocked, including by the Trump administration. Pressure to speed up the transition will now grow. More here: theatlantic.com/magazine/202…

I am always against monkeying around with the Constitution, but if Trump does this and links it to policy areas, then it really is time to change or eliminate the pardon power, which was never supposed to be used as a blanket shield for preventing accountability
SCOOP: White House lawyers weigh preemptive pardons for large numbers of junior admin staff, as MAGA allies press for protections for lower ranking aides Under discussion is pardons everyone in certain policy, like deportation Does not seem imminent washingtonsun.com/whitehouse…

Much of what's wrong with this presidency flows from the fact that Trump views himself as the leader of a faction, not the head of state. Threatening to stop doing good things for Americans in a state if it votes for a Dem reflects that fundamental constitutional failing. – at Brookmont, MD
Trump: "Lisa Murkowski is a DISGRACE to Alaska and our Country. You just don’t get any worse! I hope the Great People of Alaska understand what is happening. The Democrats are trying to steal this important Republican Seat and, if that happens, everything we’ve done for Alaska will come to an immediate hault."

This is like the epigraph for the entire Trump 2.0 presidency: ‘’I don’t give a damn. We’re making a fortune’
TRUMP on HIGH GAS PRICES: We’re making money like we’ve never made before. They’ll say: President Trump is bragging about all the money they're making while people are suffering at the pump. I don’t give a damn. We’re making a freaking fortune.
