omg this is hilarious 🤣
On Friday a non-German speaking couple tried to order coffee at a bakery, but bolted out the door when the brisk saleswoman said „HIER TRINKEN ODER ZUM MITNEHMEN?“ pointing once at the door and at her feet. If I hadn’t understood German, I‘d have run too.

#ChatGPT is making false claims about @jeremyphoward's work. It's still better than making up a "Matthew O'Connor" that doesn't even exist, but still 😂

I keep recommending to my students “the roaring exercise” to get the French R pronunciation. If it sounds like you’re gagging, you’re probably getting close 😉

This attitude is a direct consequence of “French universalism” which also served to justify colonization. For 300 years French authorities have sought to pass their language as superior and impose it on the population (who spoke many diverse languages). It’s a trauma response.
It blows my mind how so many French people think French is that superior godsent language. Calm down guys. French is as good as any other language in the world. It's not superior. It's not better. It's just a language. Our culture isn't superior to any other either.

Prepositions are the hardest thing in ANY language I have worked with. Advanced students of French with near-native fluency still struggle with prepositions.
Prepositions in English are tough man Coupled with phrasal verbs, I'd say they're both the hardest things about the English language What do you guys think?
