Pepsi paid $2bn for Poppi and now says it won't pay the $300m earnout. Everyone's acting surprised. What happens when a giant buys a challenger brand, with the receipts: - Honest Tea, Odwalla, Zico: all bought by Coke, all discontinued. Zico's founder bought it back. - Bai: Dr Pepper paid $1.7bn, wrote most of it down. - Bodyarmor: Coke paid $5.6bn, took a $760m impairment three years later. - Rockstar: Pepsi paid $3.85bn, has lost share every year since. - Freshly: Nestlé paid $1.5bn, shut it within three years. - Dollar Shave Club: Unilever paid $1bn, sold it for a fraction seven years later. - Bonobos: Walmart paid $310m, sold for $75m. - Mirror: Lululemon paid $500m, wrote it off and shut it. - Ballast Point: Constellation paid $1bn, sold for pocket change four years on. - Reebok: Adidas paid $3.8bn, sold for $2.5bn fifteen years later. - Snapple: Quaker paid $1.7bn in 1994, sold for $300m in 1997. The original. The pattern isn't bad luck. The brand was bought to protect the original and core portfolio, not to grow. Once it's off the market, the job is done. If you ever sell to one of these: the cash on day one is the price. Everything else is a promise from someone who is incentivized is not to keep it.

This is going to be some amazing brand recognition for @DenverRayburn. Having been to the factory, I can assure you it’s real. True gamechanger.
I will pay you $1000 if you show us the following: 1. Video of the sweaters being knit in Los Angeles 2. Where the machines are made that make those sweaters via 3. The box holding the cotton thread showing where its made @fw_automation @JoshuaSteinman @DenverRayburn My argument wasn't about the sweater, but here's your opportunity to show us all how you're reindustrializing America with a knit sweater. You've multiple times claimed its profitable at $16, so please tell us: 1. Material cost for the 2XL sweater 2. Rent in Los Angeles 3. Shipping cost 4. Packaging Again, it's not about the sweater. I'm speaking generally, but if you want to make it about the sweater, show us! It's cool right? Sorry forgetting confused for thinking that the $320 sweater was "the real one", which apparently is... made in Portugal? Why are they still selling at $320, but you're sold out by the way? If it's your design, why are you allowing that? And that "the real one" is sold out for me and has a woman wearing it who is either AI or photoshop or both. What's that about? It's confusing, so show us, and I'll pay you $1000!

Disgusting. Nasty. Repulsive. I would 100x rather go back to just 2 teams making it than 24.
Sources: The College Football Playoff is nearing a deal to expand to 24 teams, per sources. The new format will start in 2027 and is expected to come together in the near future, pending final approvals.

First they came for the software engineers, I said nothing for I was not a software engineer. Then they came for the mathematicians, I said nothing for I was not a mathematician. Then they came for the product managers and I said "make sure you get all the product managers"

I saw FreightWaves write about a startup fuel card company Slick website - no mention of having the big 3 fuel stations My bet? They are reselling a trucking companies discount and marking it up. Raising a ton of money with thin ice as its foundation

🚨 Trump is GOING OFF on Zelensky, warning him REPEATEDLY not to hit Russian refineries because of the MASSIVE global diesel shortage it causes, and Zelensky did it anyway "Zelensky could have settled this war MANY TIMES. Many, many times, and he chooses NOT to." "We said, 'you can do whatever you want to Russia. Don't hit the refineries, because that's a world problem that's caused.'" "So he better damn well stop!"

1.5 trillion to the national debt ……
First, he does not have the authority or power to do this. Secondly, it would add another $1.5 trillion to the national debt. Third, inflation would increase… again. Lastly. You’re a moron if you believe him.

IMO every American carrier has this complaint to a certain degree If the 3pls had certain standards for carriers : ie 1 year active authority etc But the 3pls decided to waive those standards because they worked with a carrier before , who now has a new identity / carrier authority Wouldn’t that be technically wrong? Aren’t sister carriers against the rules?
And here it is. These motor carrier plaintiffs worked for a shipper & allegedly lost the business to TQL & CH. They argue they cannot service the account in a cost effective way, because the defendants allegedly use unsafe carriers. Spoiler: that’s not how RICO works

Why do *most* old timers hate NIL? It’s price fixing , anti free market behavior College football makes billions. Let the talent earn their fair share * I do believe colleges should make the majority of the share of revenue in football because certain brands give you better opportunity. But let everyone negotiate for themselves But, we’ve never had this level of parity in college football

The federal government could have saved everybody a bunch of time, money, and headaches by just hiring @garrett_makes to do this instead.
This is the CEO & President of Changeis, Inc.awarded a contract valued at exactly $12,749,343 (roughly $12.75 million) by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). to build the MOTUS system, the system there has been nothing but trouble since it launched.
