A car alone doesn’t define wealth. 😄
Some people buy BMWs because they genuinely can afford them.
Some drive Maruti because they prefer simplicity.
Both are fine.
But India has become obsessed with judging people’s finances from parking lots.
The richest guy in my colony drives a Maruti.
But one of my neighbour drives a BMW. Seven EMIs deep.
The Maruti owner has 5 crore in equities.
The BMW owner has 40 lakh in PF and a credit card balance.
In India, the car is the loudest signal.
And the most misleading one.
Unspent money in the bank is the truest metric of wealth.
Debt is what you park in the driveway.
Everyone wants:
🛣️ Better roads
🚆 Bullet trains
🛡️ Strong defence
🏥 Hospitals
🏫 Infrastructure
💡 Subsidies & welfare
But nobody wants any taxes. 😄

Calling INR depreciation only a “government ignorance” issue is an oversimplification.
Almost every emerging market currency has faced pressure due to:
📈 Strong US dollar
🏦 High US interest rates
⚔️ Global wars & oil prices
💸 FII money rotating globally

Every few years global money chases the “next hot theme.”
Yesterday it was China. Today it’s AI chips in Taiwan & Korea. Tomorrow it will be something else.
That doesn’t mean India’s story is broken

India was once the favorite in MSCI EM but global money is now chasing Taiwan & Korea’s AI and chip boom. With heavy dependence on IT & BFSI, India seems to be losing momentum in the global race.
Is India’s growth story slowing down or is this just a temporary shift in global investor priorities?

Interesting how suddenly everyone discovered “innovation” now. 😄
Where were these lectures 10 years ago when Indian companies were busy surviving NPAs, policy paralysis, weak infrastructure, and banking stress?
Today India already has:
🚀 Space startups
🤖 AI startups
Top billionaires are accelerating capex in AI, Humanoids , Spacetech, fuel cell , defence tech
Our top business houses (with few exceptions) are doing paints ,colas, icecreams , house fittings, IPL teams etc..nothing against them as India is a large consumer market but the urgency to pivot n innovate is missing .
Nifty 50 and Nifty 100 composition will change big time in next 3 years.

Salary increases by 5%?
But people conveniently forget:
📱 Better telecom- faster internet & streaming
🏥 Better healthcare- advanced treatments
🏫 Better schools = higher quality education
🛒 Grocery costs rise due to fuel & supply chains
🏠 Rent rises because cities are growing
Rupee on ventilator? 😄
Funny how every “crisis” prediction forgets one thing:
India is still one of the fastest-growing major economies. Meanwhile, Indonesia’s rupiah is near lifetime lows too. Global currency pressure isn’t unique to India wars, oil prices & geopolitics 🇮🇳
Salary alone doesn’t decide quality of life 👀
₹50K in a tier-3 city may give:
🏡 Family support
💰 Better savings
😌 Less stress & More personal time
But ₹1.5L in a metro may give:
🚀 Career growth
🌍 Better exposure
🤝 Bigger network
📈 Higher long-term opportunities
Shanghai is a global megacity built after decades of massive stateled infrastructure investment, low labor costs & strict centralized control
Comparing it casually with NY or Dubai without considering political systems, wages, demographics, and freedoms oversimplifies everything
This is the most viral elevator in Shanghai, China 🇨🇳
Few things I noticed about this city:
Cameras are everywhere. Streets, shops, inside the metro. I felt safer here than in any Western city I've been to. Didn't see a single police officer the whole trip.
Cleanest and Safest big city I've been to. They wash the streets every night.
Cabs are nothing. A 30 minute DiDi across town is around $5. Coffee is cheaper than Starbucks. Dinner out is cheap.
Nobody uses Cash or Card. Everyone pays with Alipay or WeChat.
Way way way better than Dubai and New York.

What type of asset can you pass to the next generation
🟡 Gold → Protection during uncertainty
📈 Stocks/ETFs → Longterm compounding power
🏢 Real Estate → Stability &physical ownership
💼 Mutual Funds →Diversification & convenience

What type of asset can you pass to the next generation? 🤔
• ₹1 Cr worth of Gold
• ₹1 Cr worth of Mutual Funds
• ₹1 Cr worth of Stocks/ETFs
• ₹1 Cr worth of Land
My choice: Stocks/ETFs 📈
Because businesses grow, compound, and create long-term wealth. 💯

Every sector falling doesn’t mean money disappeared 😄
➡️ From weak hands to strong hands
➡️ From overvalued stocks to safer assets
➡️ From retail panic to institutional buying
Market corrections are temporary. Fear is permanent for people without patience📉➡️📈
People setting ACs to 18°C in 45°C Indian summers and then complaining about electricity bills and power cuts is peak irony.
26°C with proper insulation/fans is comfortable for most people and far more energy efficient.
An Indian resident earning profits anywhere in the world being taxed by India is completely normal
A US resident investing in Japan still owes US taxes.
A UK resident investing in the US still owes UK taxes.
Calling this not investor friendly misunderstand basic global taxation
This is only partially true. Singapore has no capital gains tax, but US investors still face taxes dividend withholding. India does tax capital gains&depreciation matters too. But global investors invest in India for long-term growth and return potential, not just tax benefits.

Here’s a simple counter tweet:
Taxes alone don’t decide investments. If that was true, nobody would invest in India. Investors for growth, scale, and future potential. Even with rupee depreciation & taxes, still attracts global capital because returns matter more than headlines.
