1 bug. 10 years ago. 3.6 million ETH stolen. That was The DAO hack. June 2016. And the bug had already been identified before the attack happened. I am 24% done with the @CyfrinUpdraft Smart contract Security course and @ethereum history is unraveling.

I have been a huge fan of @Njerae so I made a concept website as a tribute. No she is not affiliated with it (yet) nor is her label, but I had so much fun doing this over a couple of weeks, try it out yourself iamnjerae.vercel.app better on desktop with headphones

My family and I are organizing a Harambee to happen on 5th September but I won’t lie, I am not sure if it will be a success. I’ll admit, I am scared not many people will show up 😭 It’s a different thing to ask people to show up in person, on a specific day, for someone they’ve only met on this platform. I’ve also tried several mainstream media houses over the past few months, hoping they could help amplify my story further. Most couldn’t because of their own editorial policies around fundraising appeals.😭 Can I count on you? Will you help me mobilize for two weeks? Will you rally behind me when it matters the most? I promise you, I will keep tweeting, I will keep showing up even when my body says otherwise. I need you more than ever 🥺🥺 Mchanga: mchanga.africa/fundraiser/14… #SaveMaryWanjiku

I remember my very first interaction with Blockchain courtesy of @Web3Clubs . Learned something something on Cartesi 😅 barely understood what was happening, but I built a demo and got 3700 😂 Cool community that one❤️
🇰🇪 Kenya’s Web3 Developer Landscape: Where the Builders Come From 37% of developers say peers and social networks were their entry point into Web3, making organic networks the single largest onboarding channel in the country. With formal Web3 education still fragmented, local communities have stepped up as the primary technical infrastructure. Here are some communities and programs shaping that builder pipeline: 1. @Web3Clubs We (Web3Clubs) are the primary university builder pipeline and incubator in East Africa with: - 10 completed cohorts (EVM/Solidity, Rust, Cairo, NEAR, Cryptography, Agentic AI) - 10+ University Chapters spanning Nairobi, Western & Rift Valley (@Maseno_Uni , @MMUST_Kenya , @DiscoverJKUAT , @KenyattaUni , @StrathU , @egertonunikenya , @Tum001Ke , @BaratonChurch , @RiaraUniversity , @uonbi , @kisiuniofficial @DeKUTkenya - 5,000+ active community members - 250+ IRL founder support meetups & workshops 2. @_one_dev (One Dev) runs continuous, structured intakes across two core technical tracks: - Foundations Bootcamp (Programming & CS basics) - 4-Month Full-Stack & Blockchain Engineering Diploma 3. @ADAMUR_R (Adamur) is a technical collective focused on system automation workflows and building at the high-growth intersection of AI and Decentralized Infrastructure 4. @BCentreNBO (Blockchain Centre Nairobi is long-standing anchor for ecosystem education, hosting physical events, dev meetups, and founder networking 5. @BitDevsNBO hosts monthly technical Socratic seminars diving deep into Bitcoin Core, Lightning Network architecture, eCash, and node setups for protocol-level devs 6. @btc_dada (Bitcoin Dada / Dada Devs) is a women-led Web3 and Bitcoin education initiative training African female engineers to run nodes, build on Lightning, and contribute upstream to open-source repos 7. @AvaxAfrica (Team1 Africa) is driving @avax development across the continent with practical builder cohorts around decentralised agentic Systems 8. @NodeNBO (Node NBO) is a physical innovation campus in Gigiri at the frontier of energy, AI compute, Bitcoin, and freedom tech. They hosts physical labs and workspaces for organizations like @Fedi, @BtrustTeam, @GridlessCompute, @HRF and local freedom tech builders Taken together, these programmes show that Kenya’s developer pipeline is being built through community efforts, all playing a different role in moving developers from discovery and learning to actually building. Up next: We'll take a closer look at the technologies, programming languages and protocol stacks Kenyan developers are choosing to build with, and what that tells us about the direction of the country’s virtual assets ecosystem. I study engineering and my school fee is 336k per year, I applied for scholarship and HELB loan since my 1st year. With the NFM this is split into HELB roughly 100k Parent another 100k and scholarship is 134k(these are approximations) so last year the president @WilliamsRuto announced reduction of university fees and subsequently the HELB loan was reduced to just 84k per year and this meant the parents pay also 84k. That's okay but one thing worth noting is scholarship, frame 2 shows that for the year 2024/2025 no scholarship was disbursed and for the year 2025/2026 just 26,735 was disbursed to the university, How is that supposed to help assuming university fees for my course were reduced to 250k. These are the matters we need to amplify as citizens of this country juu what is this???? And when graduation comes naskia eti sijaclear fees and all na my parent has done his part!!! @HELBpage @UFKenya @HonJuliusMigos @EduMinKenya This is not Okay at all!!!! I'm talking as a concerned student and someone who is afraid of falling victim to this bad government @AdrianOluoch please look into this matter
While bloggers are being payed to sanitize the government on matters infrastructure, education is being used to steal from helpless citizens who have nothing but just want to gain education for a brighter future, I’ll take myself for an example
