Wait, what? Now it costs $40 a month to keep using Tweetdeck? Sounds like a good excuse to step back from social media.

If you set aside a few COVID panic months, we've had full employment for nearly a decade now. It's a shockingly long period and unlike anything in our nation's history.
The working age population will soon start shrinking. Are we ready for permanent full employment?

Today marks the 65th anniversary of the raising of the Berlin Wall. The East German government's official name for it was "The Anti-Fascist Protection Barrier" (Antifaschistischer Schutzwall), which serves as a reminder that sometimes people use the label "fascism" to justify their own totalitarian behavior.

The weirdest thing about all these Euro World Cup takes about America are the takes about yellow school buses being some kind of magical, impossible thing. No, listen -- THEY ARE REAL. They are not remarkable. You see them every day. What ever gave you the idea that they were just in movies?

Thank you, Google. I wouldn't want to confuse him with the current Roman Emperor.

Interesting. This was the month when the Trump-era decline in the number of employees on the federal payroll stopped. It ticked up just ever so slightly from 2.676 million to 2.677 million between April and May.

Alexa has gone downhill so fast. Now takes much longer than before to do simple tasks like scheduling reminders. And it feels like just yesterday that she could actually play Bach's Fifth Brandenberg Concerto, starting with the first movement, on request. Now, she either plays the Third instead or goes straight to the Fifth's second movement. The upgrades @amazon did about 6 months ago are a total failure.

What is this about four alien species? Sectoids, Floaters, Mutons, and Snakemen, I assume? Still haven't found the Ethereals?

Just re-watching The Expanse, and I guess I missed the first time through that one of the ships was named the "Guy Molinari." Staten Island politics ftw.

The shuttering of the Schlitz brand reminds me of the late Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Milton Faymie, who always insisted on drinking Schlitz between innings while he was pitching. Unfortunately, he overdid it during one game. He walked the bases loaded, then walked in the winning run. And the opponents cheered: "Schlitz! The beer that made Mil Faymie walk us!"

I am reminded of how Wm F. Buckley kept secret his endorsement by Goldwater in 1965 when he was running for mayor of NYC.
Trump could shake up LA mayor race with bombshell Spencer Pratt endorsement trib.al/3cJ2GRg

Let's suppose you flip a coin and it ends up heads Let's suppose you flip it again with everything in the exact same position, using the exact same motion, and exact same environment What are the odds it will be heads again?

I think this is true of nearly everyone. Except if you're American you're not really pronouncing that second "t".
Honest to God, I think I read "twen-ty" and say "twun-ty," the later especially when counting.

Seriously, think about how you SAY the words, not how they look.
Please help me settle this question: Does "twenty" rhyme with "plenty?"

I respect your answer, but ask yourself: Instead of what you think you say, don't you really say "twunny," rhymes with "money?"
