A single father works three jobs to provide for his 10-year-old daughter. He cleans offices at night, delivers groceries during the day, and works weekend shifts at a gas station. Because he is always exhausted, he frequently misses his daughter’s school events.
One evening, she tells him that her classmates’ parents are attending a school presentation and asks whether he will come. He promises to be there, but an unexpected shift threatens to make him late again.
At school, the girl begins her presentation by explaining that her father may not have a prestigious job, but he has taught her responsibility, sacrifice, and the value of keeping promises. Just as she finishes, her father arrives in his work uniform, breathless and apologetic.
After the presentation, she runs into his arms. He realizes that providing for a child is not only about paying bills; it is also about making time to be present.
