Friends walkers do like to be beside the seaside especially when the weather is glorious and the views are spectacular!
Saturday's walk used the Leeds to Morecambe train & followed a route around the coast to Jenny Brown's Point before returning to Arnside over Arnside Knott!
Showers, sunshine and rainbows on last Saturday's Guided Walk from Ribblehead to Horton and, as promised on the programme, we did see all the Three Peaks!

A Cove, a Point and a Knot?

Sunday's walk from Gunnerside using the Northern DalesBus from Ribblehead was much more seasonal!
The low cloud was very atmospheric and made walking through the deserted, post-industrial landscape of the lead workings feel quite eerie.
On Saturday, our walkers enjoyed glorious sunshine and stunning views on a leisurely paced meander through the lovely countryside around Settle.
We were also lucky enough to catch sight of a pair of kingfishers flashing down the Ribble...but too fast enough to capture a photo!
Fancy a walk this Saturday in the Ribble Valley with views of the iconic Ribblehead Viaduct and the Three Peaks?
We'll be departing Ribblehead at 10:52 when the walk leaders arrive!

Our Summer Guided Walks programme finished on a high last Saturday, on the summits of Pen-y-ghent and Plover Hill! Walkers enjoyed a breezy day with some fine views & we also bid a fond farewell to Ian Baxter who has "retired" after many years as a Walk Leader for the Friends
On Sunday we'll be leaving Ribblehead at 10:33 on a 7 mile walk around Gunnerside via Melbecks Moor. Spectacular views and lead mines on this high-level walk around Gunnerside Gill.

This Catch the Bus Month, we’re bringing together people from across the rural transport world for an online discussion about why rural buses matter, what passengers need and what the future could look like for travel in the Dales.
We'd like your questions for the panel.
