8% could change Minnesota politics.
If Jay Reeves earns 8% of the vote for State Auditor, Forward Independence gains major-party status in Minnesota.
Nearly a third of likely Minnesota voters identify as independents. Many don’t fit neatly into either major party, yet they’re often left without a political option that reflects their views.
Imagine a Minnesota where voters have another choice, candidates have another path, and political decisions aren’t dictated by party lines.
A different choice starts with the voters. And 8% could be the beginning.

Independent U.S. Senate candidates who have a real chance to win.
Balancing the budget and getting big money out of politics clearly aren’t going to happen through the same partisan politics that got us here. Breaking the two-party stranglehold starts with electing leaders who aren’t beholden to either party.
OFFICIAL ENDORSEMENT: TRENT DILKS FOR MN SENATE DISTRICT 13
If you want to start electing common-sense people who are running for office for all the right reasons, a great place to start is Trent Dilks in Senate District 13.
Forward Independence is proud to officially endorse Dilks.
Trent is a military veteran, and veterans advocate who wants to solve problems and get things done, not play partisan political games.
He's already demonstrated that commitment by joining the Minnesota Forward Together Coalition and pledging to put people over party.
Minnesota needs more leaders like Trent Dilks. We encourage voters in District 13 to send him to St. Paul!
If @JayR_for_OSA gets 8% of the vote this November, Minnesota gets another major party in the @forwardpartymn
That means less two-way races between extreme left or right candidates and more options in the middle.
KSTP/SurveyUSA: DFL candidate Zack Filipovich flips the script in MN state auditor race. After trailing Republican Scott Jensen by 7 last month, Filipovich now leads by 1. Now a dead heat.
The poll includes 38% DFL, 34% GOP and 26% independent voters. @KSTP
The math is unavoidable: Social Security won’t be put on a sustainable path without some combination of revenue increases and benefit adjustments.
AARP staunchly opposes calls to reduce or cap the COLA. With many older Americans struggling with rising costs, we will never stop fighting to protect Social Security from cuts or privatization. spr.ly/6015BHGL0P

Kurt Alme will fall in line with that same cowardice, backing the president instead of working to end the costly war in Iran.
A senator’s job is to follow the Constitution and answer to voters, not rubber stamp whatever their party demands. I know what my job is.
Alethical will be hosting a Forward Debate with Senate District 13 candidates Aaron Brutger and Trent Dilks. The third candidate in the race has thus far not accepted the invitation.
Alethical Founder and event moderator Angel Zierden says this is going to be different than political debates you're used to: "What I expect is basic respect. Let people finish. Challenge their ideas without personally attacking them. And when somebody asks you a question, answer that question, not the one you wish they had asked."
The audience will also have an opportunity to ask questions related to their district.

I am excited to announce that Alethical will be hosting the first Forward Debate with Senate District 13 candidates Aaron Brutger and Trent Dilks. We are going to shake things up and set the example for how political debates should be done moving forward.
For this debate, I have only one rule: we don’t have any rules.
What I expect is basic respect. Let people finish. Challenge their ideas without personally attacking them. And when somebody asks you a question, answer that question, not the one you wish they had asked.
The candidates will not receive the questions in advance. I want voters to hear how they think, what they believe, and how they respond when someone challenges them. If they don’t know something, they can say that. An honest “I don’t know” means more than a rehearsed answer that tells us nothing.
I’m tired of politics feeling like a production, where money and talking points drown out real conversations. We can disagree without being enemies. We can ask difficult questions without being disrespectful.
The audience will have an opportunity to also respectfully ask questions related to their district.
We have an opportunity to prove that political discussion and debating can be productive, informative and relational. The message is clear, it's time to actually show up for all voters.
These candidates are asking to represent Senate District 13. Voters deserve to know where they stand and whether they can have an honest conversation with the people they want to serve."

We've heard from candidates across Minnesota who ran as Republicans or Democrats but told us they would have preferred to run with Forward Independence if not for the signature requirements to get on the ballot.
If Jay Reeves gets at least 8% of the vote in the State Auditor race, Forward Independence would earn major-party status in Minnesota and be on a level playing field with Democrats and Republicans.
Republicans and Democrats are running for federal office all across the country without any real intention of doing anything about this if they get elected.

Jay Reeves served our country honorably for 17 years. His military career ended after he developed cancer from exposure to burn pits while serving in Iraq.
He's ready to continue his service as State Auditor but he needs your help.
Jay has a background in data-driven problem-solving, and a plan to proactively protect our tax dollars by identifying fraud and waste before they happen.
