21 years ago today, the legend of Fernando Alonso was immortalized in F1 history as he won his maiden drivers’ championship. At the time, this made Alonso the youngest champion in F1 history. Many still anticipate the glory days returning.

1) 2010s saw the intro of DRS and Pirelli tyres, which was objectively a larger factor than refuelling. 2) I refute the idea that “more overtakes = better”. The refuelling era was peak F1 imo.

Statistically, if Lewis Hamilton makes it onto the podium, he's most likely going to the top step. More than half of his podiums have been wins Wins - 106/206 (51.46%) Second - 59/206 (28.64%) Third - 41/206 (19.90%)

Congrats to Gasly! But this whole thing is a complete mess. Measuring average speed is something I teach 12 year olds how to do. It’s embarrassing they couldn’t get it right.
