Thank you @GovJanetMills!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This is an unverified statement from the Governor of Main. Janet Mills did release two statements via Maine.gov but with no claims to withhold federal taxes from paychecks. This quote was spread on Threads with a link to an article where she wasn’t even quoted as saying this.

This will piss some people off but...
In my opinion the psychological damage caused by the kind of blind faith promoted by religion is why Trump's lies so easily spread. It conditions people to accept authority without question. When individuals are taught from an early age to believe in something without proof, to surrender critical thinking in favor of “divine truth,” they become more susceptible to manipulation.
Trump has exploited this mindset, demanding unwavering loyalty while flooding the public with lies. His supporters don’t require evidence; they’ve been conditioned to reject it. The same mechanisms that demand faith in religious dogma now demand faith in political falsehoods, creating a world where truth is secondary to belief, and where reality itself is dictated NOT by facts, but by the proclamations of a self-styled savior.
Blind faith, whether in a religious figure or a political demagogue, is corrosive to democracy and to the human mind.

For MAGAs who don’t understand the constitution.
1. A judge cannot overturn a law as written.
2. An executive order is not a law.
3. A president cannot create a law without Congress.
So a judge has every right to overturn an EO if it’s found to be unconstitutional.

From our earliest days, Black history has always been American history – and Black folks have profoundly shaped our American culture through music, art, literature, sports, and beyond. One month a year is not sufficient to celebrate the power of the movements and the people who have fought for the rights we enjoy today. That’s something that we have to do each and every day, as we strive to live up to their example and make sure our children and grandchildren remember their stories.

🚨| Taylor Swift speaks out on the LA wildfires and shares some helpful organizations helping the communities rebuild
"These are the organizations I've donated to. If you feel compelled or able to donate, please do"
If 50% of TT has to be US business owned then should 50% of US donations from “ultra rich people on Twitter” be mandated to benefit/remain in the US?

I think it’s fair to say the American People are wide awake to the absolute scam that Congress really is and have had enough

Dear Democrats:
Many Americans (myself included) will be voting Democrat for the first time in our lives this November.
We’re not doing this because we agree with Democrats on policy; we’re doing it because we understand the need to stop Trump from destroying our Constitution.
If you see us non-Democrat Kamala supporters on Twitter espousing beliefs you disagree with, like on taxes or guns or whatever, try to let it go. Don’t be jerks. Don’t disparage and argue, expecting us to toe the Democrat line, because we won’t. We’re not Democrats. Being hostile to us will backfire and endanger our alliance.
We’ve made common cause with you in this election because our democracy faces an existential threat. We agree Trump is dangerous and we want to work with you to defeat him. Let’s be grateful for this mutual cooperation.
We can go back to arguing and being opponents after November. Until then, we have a country to save.

Women don’t owe the world children.
They don’t owe men babies.
And they don’t owe you an explanation.
Women: remember, voting is private. You can verbally appease your husband or whomever and still vote for your own women’s rights on the ballot by voting Harris for President
Replying to @Logically_JC
Some Republican women are submissive to their husbands wishes. If their husband tells them to vote Republican, they might do it.

This November, we will help elect a majority to Congress who agree that the government should not be telling a woman what to do with her body.
When Congress passes the law to restore reproductive freedoms, as President of the United States, I will sign it into law.

We believe in a future where every person has the opportunity not just to get by, but to get ahead.
A future where every worker has the freedom to join a union.
Where every person has affordable health care, affordable child care, and paid family leave.
We believe in a future where every senior can retire with dignity.
So this is to say, building up the middle class will be a defining goal of my presidency.
White women - this is one way to go to bat for POC: VOTE VP KAMALA HARRIS
Donald Trump wants to take our country backwards to a time before many of our fellow Americans had full freedoms and rights, but we believe in a brighter future that makes room for all Americans.
We believe in a future where every person has the opportunity not just to get by, but get ahead.
We believe in a future where no child has to grow up in poverty, where every person can buy a home, start a family, and build wealth—and where every person has access to paid family leave and affordable child care.
We will build a nation where everyone has affordable health care, and every senior can retire with dignity.
Building up the middle class will be a defining goal of my presidency.
