I recently had the pleasure of talking to Derrick Stephens of underdog DREAMS. He and his team won the RWJ Clinical Scholars Grant which awarded him 525k to create a multi-faceted approach for improving the physical and mental health and education of Floridan former foster youth.
Excited to announce Underdog Dreams Mini- Documentary is complete! Check out the trailer! I've always dreamed of producing a documentary to tell my story. More importantly the untold stories of foster youth, biological and foster parents and child welfare professionals working.

Congratulations to Bruin Guardian Scholars @UCLA. These programs are necessary for the welfare of #formerfosteryouth. I would not have been able to become a physician if not for the support I received from their sister organization Berkeley Hope Scholars @UCBerkeley
#UCLA has received a gift of $1 million to create an endowment for the Bruin Guardian Scholars Program. Bruin Guardian Scholars provides financial assistance, mentoring and other support for students who are or were in foster care. Read more here: ow.ly/EYZL50F0NcY.
