This is big. Long overdue but I won’t say that part out loud.
Getting food from real farmers into the school system is actually a shockingly hard thing to do. I have worked on this problem for the past 12 months. Yes, with success, but hard fought success.
Excited to put my bid in on solving this problem.

Today, @NIH and @AHRQGov are announcing DEPEND, a new $32.5 million HHS initiative to help schools serve healthier, nutritious food while staying within their budgets.
@SecKennedy: “We need to help them upgrade their kitchens, expand scratch cooking, reduce added sugars and ultra-processed foods, and serve more fresh produce, whole grains, and high-quality protein. We will use rigorous science to build the playbook for how schools across America can transition to real foods affordably.”

Having an unusually large goal is an adrenaline infusion that provides the endurance to overcome the inevitable trials and tribulations that go along with any goal.
Realistic goals, goals restricted to the average ambition level, are uninspiring and will only fuel you through the first or second problem, at which point you throw in the towel.
If the potential payoff is mediocre or average, so is your effort.

2. @YIMBYLAND is the subject matter expert of all experts in advancing building codes to allow for sensible approaches to building more housing, at breakneck speeds. AND
3. Their company name is pretty badass. Story and brand matter. And yes… they can build beautiful homes, insanely quick, at a fraction of the current national cost.

My prediction: this company will fail - not for lack of having an incredible product - but for taking a risk on what at face value feels like a funny, cheeky, brand name and marketing strategy.
